I bought a pair of Fabiano hiking boots about 15 years ago and they are
not going to last me much longer although they are still wonderful. Does
anybody know where you can purchase this brand of boots, are they now
defunked?

> defunked?I think I've seen them advertised in a Campmoor catalog. I don't have the
address handy right now. If I find it later I'll post it to you. I think
they may also be on the web. try www.campmoor.com anyway.

Fabiano is alive and well. You may be able to find them in a local outdoor
specialty store (I've seen them recently in Blue Ridge Mountain Sports,
which are mostly on the east coast). Or call the Fabiano Shoe Co, 850
Summer St., South Boston, MA 02127 617-268-5625 and ask for their
catalog.

They still make one of the nicest traditional Italian mountain boots, all
leather, Norwegian-stitched, heavy as a bear, and hard to break in, but I
still like it.

Disclaimer: I don't work for them, and I don't even wear their boots. I'm
just answering the question.

Fabiano is the US importer for Scarpa hiking boots. Black Diamond is
the US importer for Scarpa climbing shoes, double boots, and ski
boots.

Scarpa also manufacturers the traditional boots with the Fabiano name
in addition to those sold under the Scarpa brand.
