I just got a Sierra Tradng Post catalog that has some close-out Moss
tents and the description says 'made in China'. Has REI now moved Moss
production to China? If so, how sad. Remember when Moss didn't produce a
plethora of failed fad models that wound up in outdoor jobber catalogs?

Is Moss owned by REI? I'm not sure. Take a look at the page below:
http://www.msrcorp.com/about.htm

Seems Moss's and Walrus's tents are manufactered by a company called Edgeworks.

I know that when they moved from Camden, Me they were bought by REI. Maybe they were sold again
to MSR. Maybe MSR is owned by REI. Anyone know. This expalins why Moss is now just an other
goofy ass mindless tent company devoted to this years fad - windows anyone? I admit that the
outlook is the best one man double wall made, but then it's really a small Olympic - so it's not
really a sign of REIs brilliance. It's just sad to see such a fine company reduced to making the
same old #@$% as everyone else.

Walrus, Moss and Armadillo were all absorbed into Edgeworks a couple of
years ago.
Last year, MSR bought Edgeworks.
MSR is owned by REI
My company used to sell Edgeworks tents, that's how we know all this

Bottom line is that Walrus, Moss, Armadillo and REI tents are all made by the
same company. Had an REI salesperson tell me just that a couple of weeks ago.

I see. :) Anyway, I'm really happy with my Walrus tent.
