An Idea just hit me:

What with the proliferation of semi-permanent structures
at pennsic, why don't we have a space set aside for them? (I mean a space
larger than the "row" by the barn, say on both sides of a row adjoining
the Merchant's Area). then, on their land reservation forms, people bringing
structures can put in the area they need, and they can all be erected in
the same place as sort of a "town." The builders can get prime camping
space as a reward for their labors in beautifying Pennsic, and also get
each other's aid in setting up their constructions. It could be a major
"tourist attraction," and really enhance the feel of the camp.

While I agree that having all the semi-permanent structures near each other as
a sort of town would look really neat to the passers by, putting them all in
the same place would also take away from the atmosphere in other parts of
Pennsic. Spreading these structures about the grounds helps us to not notice
all the Coleman tents and other modern camping gear which people (including
myself) use, and helps to promote a more medieval atmosphere throughout the
grounds.
