Contributing further to this discussion, in our group (the
Province of Tree-Girt-Sea, we have many skinny men and a few
larger women, which makes passing armor around problematic. My
own armor, which has been used by many a new fighter, is a
brigandine shirt/tabard, constructed of suede with waxed leather
tabs riveted to the inside. This was fairly easy to construct and
seems to fit a wide range of body types. Leg armor is trickier,
but can also be made in a semi-adjustable brigandine style.

How is this made please? I am trying to armour a young lady in my
canton. She is showing great interest in fighting. I would love for her
to get in armour that would work for her.
I am thinking about making a coat of plates with sewn in Plastic
Plates. Has anybody ever tried this before? Please let me know wat you
think.

Some fencing suppliers make and sell plastic breastplates for women.
They cover the chest from ribs to collarbone and could form the core
of a more elaborate suit.

having been a women fighter for over ten years now I have found that the
brest protection to be next to usless and I am a C cup. Though good groin
protection is a must, raising shots anyone? :0 . I wear a quilted
gamboson under chain, elbows, mitten gauntlets, articulated legs, and an
open face bassenett helm all of steel, and a leather gouge. I would like
to make a recomdation subscribe to the Flower of Sovence write Countess
Cymber of the Darkwater (KC Lancaster) at 6633 Irving St. Denver CO
