That's funny - at Caid's coronation last Saturday, King Gar was presented
with a stuffed aardvark. And at the feast, he was regaled with several
aardvark poems.
Is this a trend?

No trend, it just happens that His Majesty's device is an aardvark
rampant, carrying an axe. If this is a trend, it certainly started a
long time ago! :)
The bardic competition at Coronation was "Ode to an Aardvark", in
honor of King Gar, which is why the aardvark poems were recited at
the feast.
