The Facts: On Thursday night at approximately one in the morning, Vlad
and his wife Ygrainne were having some kind of altercation or arguement on
the road near their camp below Tuchux hill. This arguement was witnessed
by at least one Tuchux and someone from the Mountain Confederation. The
Tuchux, by his admission, said that he wasn't certain what was going on
when he first witnessed the woman fall. He indicated that he suggested
the man leave the woman alone or he would hit him. The man knocked the
woman to the ground again and the Tuchux hit him with his rattan sword.
When this occured, 6 men from Vlad's encampment rushed from his encampment
and started to beat up the Tuchux.
As a result of this altercation, Vlad filed assault charges against the
Tuchux, the Tuchux filed assault charges against the 6 men who attacked
him, and the Cooper's, having had enough of both groups' childish pranks,
threw first the people involved in the assaults off site and then all
members of both encampments.
The unfortunate upshot of the whole mess is that a bunch of people who
didn't have much of anything to do with the entire mess got their Pennsic
War cut short and soiled by the whole experience. Both partys have
expressed their regret at the whole incident but in this particular case,
it is difficult to lay blame squarely on one side or the other, regardless
of your personal biases.
Okay, that's enough of that. The point is, the exaggerations are
getting out of hand. There was one Tuchux there. There was Vlad. There
was one other there, Tiberius. Everyone else who was there was standing
safely away from those three was standing more than ten feet away,
including Ygraine.
I missed the beginning of the incident, but I arrived as Tiberius was
ordering Vlad to let go of the tuchux' rattan. (If you were there,
you'll remember me, the guy with red pants and no shirt.)
I will gladly relate what I saw to anyone who is involved for reasons
other than sensationalism.
We are not a court, and we have no place trying, convicting, or
absolving anyone in this forum.
