Naturally, we reed players are hard to find. If you play a reed
instrument, or other loud period instrument (If you have a Tromba
Marina, we will worship you!), and you want to play festive period
music with a group in front of other people, then we want to hear from
you.
Bagpipes, Rauschpfeife, Shawm, Bombarde, Chalmeaux, Mizmar, Zurna,
Cornetto, Zink, and any other instrument that is known for squawking,
breaking ear-drums, and otherwise being played for festivals and big
dances are welcome.
The goal is to have an authentic, loud, period band in the Boston
Metro area that plays at SCA events and renaissance faires -- We'll
play authentic medieval music with gusto so that modern people will
want to dance to it, and we'll try to make it perhaps a bit
educational, but very fun. The most important thing is that you enjoy
playing, and you have a sense of humor and know hw to have fun
playing.
