Though anthropological studies suggest that nudity is not inherently
harmful, our society tends to make us feel ashamed of both showing our
bodies and seeing others naked. In whatever way you decide to handle
this issue with your children, keep in mind that they will have to
function in a society that's moderately prudish. Parental nudity and
going naked at home in front of other family members is acceptable in
some European cultures. Semi-nude sunbathing is completely accepted in
many countries outside the United States. Nudity in public is
acceptable in some aboriginal societies and in nudist colonies.
However, being naked in front of anybody other than your spouse is not
acceptable in most of the developed world.
It is natural for parents, especially the mother, to expose body parts
to children when they are babies. Though nudity is not the same as
sexuality, we are raised in a culture that does not separate the two.
Since society will eventually make kids associate nudity with
sexuality, parents need to stop being naked in front of their kids
sooner or later. The question arises, when.
There is a school of thought that says it is good for kids to be
comfortable with seeing their parents in the nude and vice versa. They
believe that the more you hide the more fascinated your kids get with
nudity and sexuality. They may not endorse a father going naked in
front of his daughter or mother in front of her son once they are past
the age of 2 or 3. However, they don't see anything wrong with kids
seeing the same sex naked even at higher ages. In fact, they think it
may be healthy for pre-adolescents to learn about what will be
happening to their bodies—that this encourages a healthy attitude
towards nudity and prevents children from associating nudity with
sexuality.
However, even the proponents of this idea propose the following
safeguards:
* Be genuine. Don't force yourself into being comfortable with
parental nudity. If you are starting to feel awkward about exposure to
your nudity, it is likely time to be more discreet.
* Be consistent. Don't juggle between being bashful about your
nudity at times and unmindful at other times.
* Explain the difference in attitudes. If your child brings up the
fact that his friends parents are never seen naked, be ready with a
well thought out explanation.
* Be attentive to cues. There will come a time (age 2 or even much
older, like 7 or 8) when your kids will no longer feel comfortable
with your nudity or their own in front of you. (Hint: watch for
giggles or silly smiles). Respond to this and act accordingly.
* Consider your own privacy. You may not wish your private parts
to be part of a discussion between your son and his peers.

their son toilet trained until one day the boy saw his dad using the

well...notice children at grocery stores sitting in the
baskets.....they have no worries or things to do in their minds...and
their minds are free to totally take in the sights...they are very
very alert to things going on around them....just a simple sqeak of a
wheel on someones cart and they will look down at the wheel to see
whereas adults do not seem to hear it or ignore things that is not
important trying to remember what they came there for and all those
other worries that never seem to leave their heads.....so children do
learn well by letting them view what is happening...if you let them
view sex they will also act that out at every

We had a problem toilet training our son too. We just put the little pottie in the computer room, stripped him naked and
let him play on the computer. When he had to go, he realized that he had to use the pottie because he was naked and had
no diaper. Worked like a charm.
I know, not related to seeing parents naked but that's ok.
Now at 13, his mother does walk around the house naked as she's getting dressed, getting ready to go somewhere, etc. The
boy is much more open and honest about sex, i.e. boy and I were driving somewhere and he made some comment about girls
and sex. We had "the talk" about sex, pregnancy, STD's, etc. so seeing his parents nude doesn't have an adverse impact
on his sexual growth. He actually understands the difference between sexual nudity and non sexual nudity so he fits
right in at the nudist parks and events.

effect on children....if the behavior was more in line with the masses

Oh I dunno, I'd kinda like to know where you get your data from. My 17 year old lives with his mother in another state.

I never said seeing your parents limits the effects, what it does do is it teaches you that there can be a difference.
You can be naked without having sex.
Growing up, my parents treated nudity like a great sin. Mom and dad would take turns getting dressed in the bedroom to
avoid seeing each other naked. Sex was shameful and not to be tolerated but I was never told why. I grew up not knowing
why it was bad to show my penis to my cousin who was a couple years younger than me or why I shouldn't play around with
the neighbor kids, male or female. I won't say seeing my parents naked would have changed that but I do think that a
family that isn't so hung up on nudity is more likely to explain things. Hell, if you aren't comfortable with your own
body, how can you be comfortable telling your 12 year old why they shouldn't be touching the neighbor's penis? My mother
blamed AIDS on the God. She said the bible states, "thou shalt not sleep with thy brother" and that's why "those fags
have AIDS."
My kid understands the impacts of sex and the difference between sexual and non-sexual nudity. When he's old enough, it
becomes his choice what kind of a lifestyle he will live and I'll support him in any decision he makes but he isn't
going to grow up wondering why it's bad for a kid to have sex.
It sounds to me like you have a bad opinion of nudism which makes me wonder why you are here. Probably for the same
reason some jerk spent 8 hours at a local park with a cop standing next to him because he heard about a local nudist
club that planned to hold a picnic. Where I live, nudism is only illegal if someone is offended by it and willing to go
to court to say so. This guys only purpose in the park that day was to be offended.

Some believe that he is Nikki Craft in disguise, although this can't readily
be proved but she is the only person on this group who claims to know him as
both of them have been involved with nudity since the 60's and both have dug
up the dirty laundry from that period on here.
Another poster on here was convinced that his real name is Larry, a land
developer who wanted to buy a whole island to start as a nudist resort and
failed and has been regurgitating sour grapes since then.
JonZeee is obsessed and fixated with isolated incidents that occurred in
nudist places decades ago and tries to convince other posters who are
unfamiliar with nudism that it is the norm. He is pining for a return to
the social morality of Middle America of the 1950's, something that will
never happen now (and which I for one am glad because life wasn't all that
perfect and rosy back then either - look at apartheid and the oppression of
women that existed back then).
About the only person on here who has unconditionally treated him with
respect is Peter Riden who owns The Grand Barn and is a world apart from
JonZeee's utopia. Peter grew up during the 60's and accepts swingers, gay
and lesbian people, and polyamorists into his venue - people whom JonZeee
openly mocks and derides.
The only way to find out JonZeee's true identity would be to track down his
IP number in the headers in his email messages.

that is a smart decision....as your attitude of getting the kids naked
is a dying idea and times are a changing from the sixties rebellion
and get naked.....college students would throw beer cans and cigarette
butts on the girls that take it all off now....as she would probably
be fat and ugly....and social nudity with naked kids is becoming a
thing of the past.....none of the beaches have kids at them any more

Maybe teach them a lesson in tact and manners. People fear and respect
pain. I remember being dealt with violently as a child when I used to
behave in an insolent and ignorant manner. Even an email that I once posted
in jest to an Australian private nudist mail list was reported and my
account shut down because some of the posters took it the wrong way.

Read my lips: the boy was banned from attending the place after he was
reported, and after he and his family got kicked out of another club they
were involved with 3 years ago he has not misbehaved since. He is 17 years

I work with two major companies in Brisbane, but the recession has cut back
on my working hours and the CEOs made the mistake of overstaffing. If you
think that my involvement with nudism is the reason why I can't find a
girlfriend, then you are wrong again! Some of my male friends my age whom I
first met at nudist places have got married and their wives are nudists as
well and they enjoy it. The majority of Australian women have no problem
with guys being involved with nudism, just as long as they behave
appropriately with them.

It can. There have been stories of some people who got into very heated
disputes on internet forums and newsgroups. A couple of posters tracked
down their ID and IP numbers, found their home addresses and went over there
and shot them. I'm not saying that this sort of thing should be condoned
but you get on the wrong side of many people - not just nudists I might
add - and after ten years you really need to move on with your life. Find
another hobby or interest that you can dig the dirt on, but I doubt as to
whether the people involved with them will be as lenient as the rec.nuders
are.

I don't know if Jon is everything he says he is but I find it
interesting how few comments the regulars have posed regarding the
Paradise Lakes Pedophile. It reminds me of when I posted the article

But to each their own. As long as there's no children around I fully
