Nudists don't know aRt!
I just can't believe how discriminatory nudists are to aRtists. On
Saturday night, I went to the Christmas potluck at my favorite
non-sexual nudist club, Fraternity Snoqualmie. As usual, I brought my
body paints. Covering your body with thick acrylic paint has so much to
do with naturism and body acceptance, after all.
After proving I'm a pretentious aRtist by painting myself with
pseudo-Native American symbols, a nudist only known as Toadstool wanted
me to paint him in front of the children. I rubbed my painted buttocks
against his in ciRcular motions so our patterns would match. When it
came time to paint Toadstool's face, I put his face between my supple
breasts and rubbed, in a platonic way. To paint his manly rod, I filled
my Goddess Hole with paint, then inserted his rod and thrust it in and
out for about 10 minutes to ensure it was completely covered, in a
non-sexual way. Then, I put paint on my tongue and used it to paint a
tee-pee around the rim of Toadstool's backdoor glory hole. The aRtistic
SHRINGchronicity was amazing! Too cool!
Today, a bunch of women got on the Nudists list on Yahoo were gossiping
about my self-eXpression the night before. They said Fraternity
Snoqualmie is not a sex club, were mad that children saw my perfoRmance
aRt, and said what I did could have gotten nudism bad press! I can't
believe that people in nudism would be so small-minded. It's just like
those girls in high school who hated me because I am an aRtist. Why
would anyone think what I was doing was sexual? They just don't
understand aRt. Philistines. Like, what do they expect me to do?
Apologize? Don't offend the Goddess!
Luckily, I've been, um, sucking up to a major leader in the nudist
movement, Stark Morey. I'll pull some, uh, strings and Stark will have
them all banned! Only aRtists have the right to freedom of eXpression
and speech. I just love causing dissention and censorship within a
generally peaceful organization. GO, ME!

makes some very good points about her. In all fairness though, after
looking though Shannon Kringen's blog, Shannon Kringen isn't a nudist.

NATURISM HEALS soothes the soul tickles the heart
the naturist gathering was AMAZE-ING!!!
i am so tired from it...drained from being with people in such an
intense way...
i did bodypainting on myself and one other man in his 50's who is a
figure model just like me! many photos to share...this man also did a
little introduction for my tv show goddessKRING...i had him announce my
show...we both had our kringDESIGNED face paint on for the camera!
much dancing at night...naked with everyone. such a beautiful group of
people!!!
i did some figure modeling- funny to have EVERYONE be nude when they
draw the model instead of just the model!
did some underWATER photos of myself with a waterproof diGital someone
loaned me...then some underWATER video of me swimming shot through a
porthole window in the pool! i have never seen a human pool with
windows like that so you can watch the swimmers go by...and all of us
are nude! it feels so good to swim totally naked. silly to wear
anything in a pool. much easier to move around in water nude...and to
dry off when you get out is a breeze when you have bare skin.
i was in the talent show!!! i did "sonicKRINGspeak" a five minute piece
with myspoken word then improvisation on the electric piano. much
talent on the stage that night. so fun to be with natural nude people
doing many activities wearing no clothes...
i did karioke (cannot spell that word?) as in joking kind of way....i
sang "pretty woman" by the lovely roy orbison. i impersonated his
voice...(not very well but i think i was funny...people seemed to get a
kick out of it...i had bodypaint on as i did this! silly!!! goofy fun.
i think karioke is best done in a silly way as many who try and sing
seriously are way out of tune and off key and it sounds awful...so why
not just be goofy and make it humorous intentionally?!
it felt SO GOOD to meet people who appreciate my work and who wanted to
join in with me on the bodypainting! the one life model i painted was
totally respectful of my way of painting. while most others wanted
flowers and butterflies painted on themselves- this man totally liked
my tribal/aboriginal/abstract/symbolic/native american indian way of
painting onto the body...
he had the great idea of doing "body transfer" painting where i painted
onto his chest then we rubbed against one another like in lithography
or silk screen/monotype where you roll ink with a round thing...we
rubbed in circular motions our bodies so we matched! the funniest part
was doing our croth area! we did t his in front of the pool area with
lots of people around laughing slong with us! so cool!
lots of different photographers took pics of us in our paint posing
around in our classical figure stances! i hope we are feautured in
naturist magazine when they cover the eastern naturist gathering.
the most fun i have had EVER in my life thus far.
i also modeled for people who projected slides outside into the woods
of patterns and models stood in front of the slides and they
photographed us...very beautiful results.
we did a giant "slip and slide" down a grassy hill with black plastic,
soap and water...we all slid down the hill one at a time...people
ranging in age from 8 to 60something!!!! so neat to see people playing
and having fun at all ages!!! such a good time with those lovely
people!
they have horses you can ride and bison/buffalo are in the pastures
next door. i shot video and stills of them...snorting at us. beautiful
creatures.
my only complaint is the DJ at the dances played a lot of cheesy bad
music and didn't always comply with my request for tom petty and
rolling stone music!!! i wish i coulda been the DJ!!! i know how to mix
up the set list in very dramatic ways. i know i could create set lists
an audience would enjoy dancing to.
will share photos soon. gotta sleep! i am sunburned very badly and have
DOZENS of insent bites! ouch!!! blister on my foot too...
gonna photograph boston one last time tomorrow then fly back to
seattle.

Now how could someone "mistake" a man and a woman rubbing their crotch

Is Shannon Kringen a member of any nudist clubs in that area? Sounds
to me from reading her blog she didn't really consider herself as a
"card carrying" nudist but instead just someone who likes to perform in
the nude.

it turns out that my actor friend ISMAIL BASHEY who i stayed with the
other night in hollywood was the main voice for the main yogi in the
movie i saw "naked in ahses" the night after i stayed with him...it's a
documentary about holy men in india. my actor friend is from india and
speaks hindi (in the movie the yogis all spoke hindi and they have
native people from india speaking english over the top of the
traditional language of india) it was quite a beautiful movie- it
brought tears to my eyes a few times. two people in my family study
hindism...it made me think of them and feel connected...but i also am
very ATTRACTED to spirituality on that level...though i am conflicted
about it. i find holy men to be very SEXY. extremely handsome and
attractive. they have such love and depth of compassion in their
eyes...and i happen to love long messy hair and beards and very primal
people with paint on their bodies who are very lean and spiritually
oriented. the thing is these holy men are celibate= so it makes no
sense for me to be SO ATTRACTED? i need a holy tantric man to be my
lover and make aRt and live from a spiritual place....
i didn't even recognize his voice! he just told me after reading my
journal entry about seeing the movie in san diego. how cool is that.
synchronicity like that helps me feel more secure in the connections
and waves i am surfing on this trip...cuz in some ways this trip has
felt kinda awful/stressful/dysfunctional and in other ways totally
meant to be & scared.
time to soak up the sun some more.

4:32 am I know I'm part-Indian!
Ya know, I have a lot of shamanistic talents and thoughts. I'm really
deep. I just HAVE to be part-Indian! Not India-Indian, but, like,
Native American-type Indian.
I feel a special connection to animals, like bears and eagles and
stuff. I take lots of pictures of them when I go to the zoo. I'm all
spiritual and aRtistic and I like the Earth and everything. Only Native
Americans feel that way! I even watched Smoke Signals four times
because I want Adam Beach's ass, I mean, because the film got me in
touch with my warrior side!
I can't decide if I'm like a Pacific Northwest Indian, with all the
totem poles, or a Southwest Indian with all that clay pottery. I sorta
like painting wood, but I'm better with clay because it's so cool to
get my hands all gooey! LOL! What tribe makes jewelry? I like turquoise
necklaces from the 70's.
I'm tired of people saying I'm not Native American just because my
parents say we're whiteys and because I have blue eyes and because all
four of my grandparents came from Sweden! I wanna get one of those home
DNA ancestry kits so I can prove I'm Indian and everyone will be sorry
for doubting me. Then I'll get welfare and casino money. That'll rock,
LOL!

Second I didn't think there was such a party. It was obviously part of
the satire playing off of the Eastern Naturist Gathering incident.
I didn't write any of the stuff, but I guess it is important that you
clear up the stuff about the potluck as some people really don't get
satire and might mistake it for fact.
That said, is this Shannon a member of your club? Does she attend any
of your events? And what is her connection to Mark Storey who seems to
be a promenent nudist figure up there?
And when do you find time to go nude up there? I can't imagine it
being fun being naked in the rain all the time. Doesn't your skin prune
up after time? Being naked in Seattle seems like taking a day long
cold shower to me.

Of course since the incident happened in Massachusetts it is the
Massachusetts nudst community that this reflects poorly upon, not the
Seattle nudist community. Though it seems that the Seattle Nudist
community has embraces her and her antics, at least key members of the
movement up there have. At the very least they haven't renounced her
claim of being a nudist.

The Eastern Naturist Gathering naked crotch-rubbing incident really
happened. The subsequent bannings on the NW Naturist list of anyone
who asked if that was appropriate behavior really happened. Some
people were banned at about the same time for questioning another local
event called Critical Dick at the Lake Bronson resort, which involved
men standing in a circle talking about their decorated penises, and
women wearing strap-on penises and simulating masturbation and oral sex
with them.

Shannon mentions her attendance at the local events in her blog. She
and Mark are close and she mentions him in her blog. Here's a photo of
them together, where she calls herself a naturist.

About Shannon's nude crotch-rubbing at the naturist gathering, Storey
said, "The body painting was fabulous." He also called Shannon
"creative", insulted the poster who questioned the nude crotch-rubbing

"Keep it up Shannon!"

I am surprised then that Mark Storey did not reprimand Shannon for her
display of sexual exhibitionism at the gathering. I think that this
woman is just too over the top to be taken seriously as a
nudist/naturist. She needs to learn a sense of humility.
What does Storey really want to get out of naturism? Does he want it
to be a wholesome family friendly activity? Or does he want it to sink
into levels of debauchery in the name of 'aRt' as has recently
happened? If he is such a well-respected member in American nudism,
then I think that he should really check himself over this woman.
One thing is for sure: behaviour like this would NEVER be tolerated at
any of the naturist places that I have been to, especially not when
kids and their parents are around.
By the way, I could not access the message on the NWnaturist group.
I've also noticed that the group activity seems to have diminished
since the booting out of members who dared to speak up and say
"something is wrong with our way of life". :-(

first, then go to the message number.
I suppose one would need to directly ask Storey what his goals for
naturism are, but he is a founding member of Body Freedom
Collaborative, which promotes the "non-sexual" and "family-friendly"
aspects of nudism several times in its marketing.

You're right, the number of posts decreased dramatically after this
happened over the summer, as is indicated in the Message History in the
bottom half of the page. For example, in September 2004 the group had
232 posts, while September 2005 had only 32 posts. Clicking on
September 2004's posts indicates there was no unusual event or set of
events that would cause there to be a higher number of posts, so one
has to wonder why there was the dramatic decrease in one year. October
and November 2005 also experienced dramatic decreases from the previous
year.

What I read here is that some people were raising money for the
environment to save the rainforests. THey had a rock concert and a

Well, if you know him personally ask him why he is going around

Shannon Kringen does have to do with nudists activities. She is up
there doing her stuff promoting herself as a nudist with the support of
prominent nudist leaders up there. Then she goes and posts on her blog
that she wants to have sex on stage. This has everything to do with

I only posted a response I was not the OT nor am I the one with the
very funny and intelligent blog that satirizes Shannon Kringen.
I have to say I enjoyed that Blog though. Although I have never met
someone so extreme as Shannon is, I have certainly ran into many of her
type so I can really relate to the jabs made her. They are so on
target.
But like I said, when I read her own Blog, it is very tough at times to

i just had the most unique experience of my life. we went to "club
paradise" http://www.club-paradise.nl in amsterdam. it's on
schaafstraat 26. at first i was weirded out. they have a bar with food
and drinks and mirrors all around with sexual films playing on big and
small screens. they have statues of buddha lit up with candles and
classical nudes pouring water in a loving way...there is dry and wet
sauna rooms, a jacuzzi, swimming pool and some private rooms where you
can go and explore in whatever erotic way you want with friends or
strangers. clothing is optional. they recommend dressing sexy or nude.
no drugs are allowed except alchohol. there is one room upstairs where
you can get fucked by strangers if you want. we went up to watch. i
know this sounds very weird- but it felt very natural and safe. no one
touches you unless you make a move. i felt safe with my 3 friends. (one
couple and the guy i am staying with here in holland.) they kept
checking in with me to make sure i was ok- they know how sensitive &

I learned what a 'shirtcocker' is and watched a whole jubilant parade
of them, known as Critical Dick... I missed the prize-giving end of it,

Drugs are certainly not legal here. And perversion is creeping in - but
that is the American kind of perversion, in tne sense that kids are now
being considered as sex objects everywhere. A few years ago, naked
five and six years olds where considered the rule at the beaches - why
should kids wear swimsuits? - but then the "pedophilia panic" struck
us, and nowadays, even two year olds cannot be naked, "for their

First, a couple of months before this incident, all of Norway was
laughing their butts off from "the Janet Jackson incicent" - we just
imagine why showing a tit on a scene - and on television - could ever
create such havoc. Jesus Christ - tits are *natural*!!
Then, a few months later we saw something on our scenes that can hardly
be described as "unnatural" ... :-) The Norwegian havoc was no smaller
than the American one (except that we are a far smaller country, of
course). People were mad, outraget, completely out of their minds.
Angry letters to the editor in the newspapers: "I never more will speak
my native south Norway dialect, from fear of being associated with this
filth!" and things like that. Well, this rock festival was right in the
middle of *our* "bible belt", at the south coast of Norway
(Kristiansand is the name of the town).
The second part of the story: The band playing was named "The
cumshots", which ought to tip you off. At least it should have given
you a slight warning. I also believe that noone below eighteen where
admitted to the concert - not because of the sex, but because you could
by beer in the area. If mass media hadn't blown it up to a big issue,
very few except those going to the concert would have noticed. There
were several policemen in the stage are, but they found no reason to
intervene.
But during the next two weeks, the video recording were repeated again
and again on national TV: Look here! This is what happened at the Quart
festival! The super-moral newspapers let the top half of their front
pages - the part that is visible at the newsstand - be covered by
oversized pictured of the incident, along with angry headlines: *This*
is what minors might have watched at the Quart festival!! Thanks to the
"moral" newspapers, for each person who had seen the incident in real
life, there were at least a thousand who could see the pictures. Most
of us could see the video on national television, again and again and
again and... It must have bee shown several dozen times.
I'll grant those people living in Kristiansand and the rest of the
south coast, and their newspapers, the rigtht to condemn whatever has
to do with bodily functions, such as this. But then I expect them *not*
to make a huge profit by selling thousands of extra copies thanks to
their illegal,. condemnable (in their own, official opinion) pictures
on their front page. And I expect the national broadcasting, so fast in
ridiculing the JJ incident, to be eqully fast in ridiculig the
reactions to the Quart fetstival stunt.
The only thing I never understood: That young couple claimed to "Fuck
for forest". I never understood how fucking in public up here in Norway
could have any effect whatsoever on the tropic rain forests.

The Super Bowl is one of the most watched yearly events in America.
Fathers watch it with their sons. Well actually whole families watch
because women nowdays like sports just as much as men do. It is a
family event. One of the few times anymore that we really get together
as a nation. I don't want to overemphasize the family nature of the
event as the fact is all kinds of people watch it. But certainly a
parent should feel safe watching it with their children and families
across America do watch it with their children.
Perhaps you know why now why what Janet Jackson was so offensive.
Today it's someone ripping someone else's clothes off. Tomorrow it's
someone having sex up on a stage. The line has to be drawn somewhere
and I feel it is appropriate to say that someone ripping off someone
else's clothes isn't appropriate, especially with so many families
watching.

'Sex tent' at music festival stirs debate
Norway's largest annual music festival has once again managed to stir
controversy. This year it revolves around a so-called see-through "sex
tent" erected on festival grounds as part of an alleged art project.
These music fans from Oslo disagreed on whether the Quart Festival's
sex tent amounts to an exciting art project.
The idea is for artist Shu-Lea Cheang to film couples who volunteer to
have sex in the tent. Organizers of the Quart Festival in Kristiansand
on Norway's south coast claim the project aims to focus public
attention on the public sector's AIDS policies.
The tent has been set up in a restricted area on festival grounds.
Organizers say that will limit visibility from the general public at
the festival, which has attracted thousands of fans and top name
musicians this year such as Alicia Keys, Sean Paul and Morrisey.
Reaction to the sex tent is decidedly mixed. While some young festival
goers say they'd gladly "perform" for Cheang in the tent, others
dismiss the project as a "PR stunt" from festival organizers.
Some local politicians go much further in their criticism, saying the
sex tent art project is a good argument for shutting down the festival.
Acting Mayor Bjarne Ugland called festival chief Toffen Gunnufsen in to
answer questions about the sex tent. Gunnufsen told newspaper
Aftenposten Aften that the project actually is part of a larger project
called Club Detox, which even the city government supports.
"That makes it good enough for Quart," Gunnufsen said.
Artist Shu-Lea Cheang expressed surprise that the project has sparked
so much controversy. "Those who participate sign a contract before
going into the tent," Shu-Lea Cheang told local newspaper
Fædrelandsvennen.
