Does anyone know of any naturalist clubs, spas. resorts in the Sacramento area?
Looking for a place to go that is not 30 miles or more out of town.
Thanx

Laguna Del Sol is about 20 miles south of Sacramento. LDS is a 125+ acre,
nudist resort. Call ahead - (916) 687-6550

They also have a web site at

In Wilton there is Laguna del Sol. They are AANR affiliated and can be
found off of the webpage at www.aanr.com and click on CA.

Laguna del Sol is nice, but singles unfriendly. Bare Flag Republic is a family
oriented, singles friendly travel and social club in Sacramento. We may be
contacted at (916) 364-0123.

That message sounds a little self serving, to me. You see, I've been to
Laguna del Sol, and they are not 'single unfriendly' - and for you to say
so suggests you don't want singles to go there, and find out for
themselves. By the way, four friends of mine went the Halloween, and
were all warmly greeted - all, of course, singles . . .

This is completely counter to the experience my single friends endured trying
to get into the place. Admittedly, Halloween weekend is a busy time, but the
battleaxe in the front office was completely rude and demeaning. Once inside,
the clientele was very friendly.

Apparently there is something wrong here. I am a straight male. I did not
experience any negative experience at Laguna del Sol as a single male. As a
matter of fact, I found everyone to be friendly and hospitable. I am now
married, yet I still like to have a place to go where I can relax and enjoy the
sun and nature that God gave us.

In any case, I am now in the Sacramento area, and I would like to make some
friends with people in Sacramento who enjoy experiencing the warmth of the sun
on their naked bodies, swiming in a lake or river or better yet the actual
beach!

It's darn near winter now. So the travel club in Sacramento sounds like a real
good thing now.

You guys a The Bare Flag Republic: please respond.

My wife & I are year around residents at Laguna Del Sol and we love the
place. The residents, visitors and the folks who work there are usually
very warm and friendly. Singles, to the best of my knowledge, are always
welcome at LDS. As for this being "winter"... True the weather has turned
cool and wet; but we still have cricket (darts) tournaments every Friday
night (sign-ups start at 7:00 pm and the matches start at 8:00 pm) and a DJ
dance every saturday night. Then after a long night partying, many of us
retire to the indoor pool or to the indoor hot tub or maybe to the steam
sauna.

As for the bad attitude one person reported encountering in the front
office: I would suggest that the victim should call Steve Sailor, the resort
manager, at 916-687-6550 and file a complaint. Afterall, isn't that what
you would do if you ran into rude service at any textile resort or hotel?

I know what you mean, there is this Big Guy at Red, White and Blue beach,
who just *dominates* the volleyball courts, and I'm intimidated by his
size! The battleaxe maybe was a little rough, I'm glad to see that you
acknowledged that the people inside were OK. The guy at the beach is OK,
too, although I've heard he has annoyed a certain lady at Laguna recently

We've probably met, then - at least periferally (or closer. May memory
isn't what it was . . . I was the one on Halloween with the big black dog
(you may have heard of her?) . . . <G>.

As the the problem Mike had - I believe part of it was a man who had bad
ID, and has advocated to me the Violent Overthrow of the US Government.
He may have other bad habits . . .

Bare Flag Republic <grin> I think the bear on the California flag is already
nude. Just an observation.

Yep...I recall that. <smile>

Next time you visit LDS just ask for Carl or Deej and stop by for a drink.
Since I run the dart tournaments, you can almost always find us at the
Moonshadow Lounge on Friday nights.

As a single male, I've been to Laguna del Sol several times and have always
received a warm welcome both from staff and guests.

Hello:

I do not know if you ever received a response from Jim. So, I will post
the contact information for both Sacramento travel clubs.

Bare Flag Republic

As far as the landed club south of Sacramento is concerned the experiences
seem to be varied.

Everyone I have talked to agrees that the facilities are very nice and
most of the members are great. Some of the employees were also very good.
However, some of us have encountered problems with the management that show
a strong bias against single males.

The practice seems to be to let single males in the door, but then keep a
close eye (spy?) on them without letting them know about the additional
scrutiny and then look for a real or imagined reason to exclude them. The
management does not believe in approaching someone in an effort to resolve
any perceived problems first.

Other men have simply sensed, from management, that they were not welcome.

One Bare Flag member had been a member of that club for years. However,
when he and his wife divorced his membership was canceled and he was told
he would not be allowed back.

I know many single males have been lucky enough to go there and not have
any problems, so far. I do not blame them for continuing to go to a nice
location so long as they can either escape the scrutiny of, or become
friends with, the management and feel comfortable.

Sincerely,
Kent Anderson
West Sacramento, CA
