Mississippi nudist groups

My wife and I are about to move to central Mississippi and would
appreciate info on any nude clubs or groups in the state. We would't mind
driving a few hours if needed. We'll be living about one hour north of
Jackson, Ms.

Dear Roy n Lisa: Like the old expression, "the biggest cities in
Mississippi are
Memphis and New Orleans," the closest "landed" nude club is probably
Gymno
Vita Park east of Birmingham in Vandiver, Alabama. I've lived in Ms most
of my
life, read many naturist publications and rec.nude, and there is no clue
of a
nudist/ naturist organization in the state. If there is one, it's deeply
closeted.
What we do (wife, kids and I) is enjoy a private (+/-) stretch of a nice
sandy creek
near us, but no one ever joins us. I suggest you find you a remote skinny
dipping
hole or build a pool in your back yard, with a wooden fence. You're in
Dixie now!

At one time there was a club called the Mississippitans, and it was
headquartered in Jackson. I don't know if they are still in existance
or not. They were featured in the Clarion Ledger, and also on a few
special interest stories on local newscasts.

Roy and Lisa - I do not know of any nudist clubs in Mississippi.
However, nude sunbathing is fairly common on Ship Island which you can
reach by ferry, or private boat, from Gulfport or Biloxi. The island is
part of a national park, and there is no federal law against nudity. The
rangers do not hassle nudists as long as the nudists keep a respectful
distance from the swimsuit/swimming area. Ship Island is very pretty.
I'm sure you would like it.

There is one small landed club in Mississippi, in Long Beach. It's called
Running Bare; please give our best to owners Linda & Mike Piety
run...@earthlink.net They're open all year while Gymno-Vita closes for
about 8 months of the year.

There is also a social group, The Sandy Bares; Pam Williams is the leader;
sand...@bellsouth.net Please give her our best too.

There's a nudist club south of Nashville in Murfreesboro called Rock Lodge
Haven, but we don't have the contact information at the moment.

Actually, we were out in the boonies emailing cell phones via laptop; we
don't have those files on the laptop and we were, of a very rare occasion,
sans WORLD GUIDE.
