This was from the summer of 1975

Whoops, you are correct! Thanks, M!

Hey, it happens!

THE CD IS HORRIBLE BEYOND WORDS and was/is a waste of money to anyone
who has or may purchase the CD. My advice? AVOID THIS TITLE AT ALL
COST!!!! It ain't worth it.
Here is a link to the CD on Amazon and as you can see from the
reviews, it wasn't just me who was disappointed with this title.

If Rhino can issue Fallin' In Love on CD from a good quality source,
why can't other labels do the same for the albums??? Surely they could
have found an old 8-track or cassette copy of their albums and used
those instead of vinyl.
According to reviews on Amazon, Renaissance supposedly went back and
redid the project in 2007. I can't foresee spending money on this
title again hoping to get the updated version only to be let down with
the inferior 2005 release
Okay, Paul! Had to review again! While it doesn't "look" like a LP rip,
I do hear a faint vinyl remnant at the end. Probably holders of Playboy
Records tapes want a small fortune to use! Maybe noise reduction and
dynamic enhancement makes this sound odd. They do claim "Remastered", if
I remember correctly! Just like Frankie & The Knockouts material. Assume
Razor & Tie holds the tapes, but because of the expensive price to use,
even Varese Sarbande opted to rip from vinyl! '80's material ripped from
vinyl. Ha, never thought I'd see the day! Actually, Paul, this is what I
like about the '50's material. Since copyrights of US material have
expired abroad after 50 years (US fighting to change that!), now we get
to finally hear the "good" stuff from import CDs!
Uni
Well, even Rhino opted to rip from vinyl for Vanity Fare material, to
avoid having to purchase "from tape" from abroad! I found it funny, when
both Collectables and Rhino used the same identical vinyl rip!!!
Uni
It is very very obvious the entire CD comes from vinyl. And the fact
that it was done at the wrong speed is pathetic!!!!!
Maybe I have the redone edition! Whatever, Renaissance didn't use tape,
first time, last time, everywhere in between! That's right, it's hard to
find, because the person who HAS the tapes (to compile an actual
Greatest Hits) demands a high price! That's the way I "see" it! :-)
Uni
Ah, okay! Probably after they bought a turntable with speed adjustment! :-)
Uni
Hey, Paul, while I have you here, why do you think the Big Boy record
companies ONLY release better quality sound (or odd releases) out of
Japan? I mean, it comes and goes so quickly, can't be a great way to
market music.
Uni
BTW, the speed adjustment is called 'Pitch Control'. Being a DJ, both
my turntables I use have it on them as do my CD players I use when
mixing music....
They threw rocks at Sony, when they did that, after scarfing up
Columbia. But Sony made it well known when they ceased to continue.

Better called Speed Control (though you are correct), since you can vary
pitch w/o varying speed.
Uni
Did Rhino offer BOTH their Playboy Top 40 hits songs, or just one?
Uni
and although it is speed control, every turntable, DJ CD player and
tape deck I own labels speed control as 'Pitch control' including my
Technic 1200's and my Pioneer RT-909 Reel To Reel tape deck. I've
never seen it labeled as speed control on anything.
Hey, I noted some rapper these days has a huge hit [maybe that jerk
Kanye West, me as a Taylor Swift fan]
mined a hit of that for some song that goes like "Baby you look bad,
Baby you look bad"..."Like the Andy Griffith theme song.."
