The Dovells
Jesus, you Democrats, always with the facts.
No, you're thinking of the "Bristol Romp"
so? wasn't a Len Barry record, was it?
I like The Bongo Stomp!

who said it was a Len Barry record? Nobody.
Yes, it was a Dovells record....with Len Barry singing lead.
Similarly, although John Lennon sings Help! that's actually a Beatles
record! Yes, it's true! Not a John Lennon record! Satisfaction? Not a
Mick Jagger record! It's true!
Now that's funny!
********************************************
'zacly my point. no one calls "Help!" a Lennon record, and "Bristol Stomp"
isn't a Barry record.
I know comprehending is extremely difficult for you, but give it a try
this time dillweed.
The original poster said
"about which Len Barry once sang"
Notice, there is not one scintilla of the word "record" in that
statement.
So, when you come along and type
"wasn't a Len Barry record, was it?"
The answer is
It WAS on a recording of which Len Barry did sing.
See how that works sparky?
Everyone has been perfectly correct except YOU.
res ipsa loquitur
look it up.

First off, top posting is bad form on usenet.
Lets review.
Jan Dean posted
"Was she named for a Stomp about which Len Barry once sang?"
Then, you decided he was wrong, and you felt the need to correct him (since
you have no clue who Len Barry is), and so you post
"The Dovels"
After we all had a good laugh at your lack of music knowledge, another
poster kindly lets you in on the secret, and she posts
"Whose lead singer was Len Barry."
Now, realizing you had made a grande faus pas, you decide to embark on
damage control, and post the following (in the hopes that there may be
other dain bread idiots like you around, which there isn't)
"so? wasn't a Len Barry record, was it?"
As lead singer of the Dovells, Len Barry sings on Dovells recordings.
That's why they call him the lead SINGer. And, since he was their lead
singer years ago. it is proper to state he sang. Further, since he was the
lead singer on Bristol Stomp, it is correct to state
"Was she named for a Stomp about which Len Barry once sang?"
This is all about YOU BK. This latest diversionary tactic accusing me of
blowing hot air is merely your latest attempt at obfuscation and damage
control.
I'm not buying any of ot.
Everyone knows he stared on the TV Series
"F Troop" along with Forest Gump
and Larry Sanders.
Lumpy
You Played on Lawrence Welk?
Yes but no blue notes. Just blue hairs.
What's a faus pas? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Au contraire Rocky, there's you.

No faux pas. It's NOT a Len Barry (1-2-3) record.
ok, right. Did you know that Len Barry was the lead singer of the
Dovells?

Can you say "Thick As A Brick"
As sung by Ian Anderson
(we all know Jethro Tull recorded the tune, so keep the obvious to
yourself BK. It was sung by Ian)
Just like Bristol Stomp was SUNG by Len.
Wait a second, I know this one! Did "Bungle In The Jungle".... what was
the name??!!!
Uni
more appropriate question is, did the original poster know it was not a Len
Barry record.

Did you insert * # % characters at Woodstock
when CJ and the Fish did the Fish Cheer?
This is something Bill will undoubtedly love to argue. The song as released
on the original lp was properly titled "Fish Cheer" since they spelled out
"fish". But on the Woodstock records, although the song is labeled as "The
Fish Cheer," shouldn't its proper title be "The Fuck Cheer" in this
instance?

The Len Barry arrangement listed it as Funk Chair.
