In my explorations of 60's music, I've noticed that the
songwriting team of RANDAZZO/WEINSTEIN put out some great singles,
including "Goin' Out Of My Head" for Little Anthony & the Imperials (and
many others), "Hurt So Bad" for The Lettermen (later Linda Ronstadt),
"It's Gonna Take A Miracle" for their "showcase" group, The Royalettes
(later a smash hit for Deniece Williams in 1980).
When that wonderful anthology of "forgotten gems" of the girl
group era, GROWIN' UP TOO FAST (Mercury, 1996) came out, I was blown
away by the cut "I Want To Meet Him", also by The Royalettes.
Now I'm on a crusade to learn as much as I can about these
great, under-appreciated songwriters of the 60's, as well as to
uncover more of their "forgotten gems"... Any leads here?
Thanks, DAVE

I share your sentiments entirely - If you search www.bmi.com there are
almost 900 songs accredited to Teddy Randazzo. I have collected
anything with his name associated, but I only have a fraction of his
output and I know very little about him. He bridges the gap between
Bacharach/David & Gamble/Huff.
Let's hope the experts step in here:-)
