TEFTELLER: Give me some due or I'll cut my
advertising dollars?
In the September 25, 2009 edition of Goldmine magazine.
Grapvine by Associated Press. [by the way this was reported
to the AP, and is an article filled with weasel words, according
to an AP source.]
TEFTELLER: "I think I stole it?"
GOLDMINE CUSTOMERS: Yawn, Sheesh give us readers a break?
The record was barely playable! Goldmine if your gonna report the news
get the facts straight!
Here's the original ebay auction description:
Seller --- timsmusicshop ( 2622 ) <-- Note the lack of feedback from
either John or Tim?
This is Sun 183, the 9th release in the Sun Records catalog from D.A.
Hunt for Greyhound Blues w/Lonesome Old Jail. To say this is insanely
rare is not an understatement. This 45 RPM/7" record was released in
June of 1953. This record does have visible push marks. The record is
not warped. Sound samples are available upon request. I have played
both sides of the record completely through. The dead was etchings are
U-69/45 and U-70/45. The record does visually grade somewhere between
VG- and G. There are a lot of marks on both sides of this record. The
record plays as follows. Side A plays G with lots of background noise.
There are occasional pops/clicks. The labels are in G- condition due to
ring wear and an X and a B scratched into A. The B side labels are in
the same condition with the same X and B scratched into the label. The
record does get stuck half-way through. I have cleaned it with a soft
cloth and experienced the same issue. I played it on my portable Numark
and will play it on my USB Numark with headphones in the next day or so
and see if it plays through with a heavier tonearm. Side B
plays G- with lot of background noise. Due to the value of this record,
I will only ship it express mail only.

Couple of things to take note about the D.A. Hunt 45.
It was a beat to shit! It has an irreparable scratch/skip
that was beyond many long time notorious polishers.
2. Did you check Teftellers feedback? Neither Tefteller nor the seller
left feedback for each other? I heard there was some ramble tamble going
on behind the scene.
Hmmmmmm, I wonder if Mr. Tefteller is placing Tucks medicated pads
for his wasted <COUGH> effort!
Lastly, do consider the D.A. Hunt 78's were long
ago issued on the Sun Session's CD box set, a fine compilation:)
Also, it'd be interesting to see if Teffy baby tries to spend the money
and have the D.A. 45 polished and re-sold.
Somehow I remember when I was in USA buying records I saw
Tefteller in Dec 2005 or early 2006 on the Antique Roadshow (ask around)
with one of his so called precious multi thousand dollored blues
Paramounts getting an appraisal!! On the Antique Roadshow!! Kind of an
oxymoron wouldn't you say John? Only to have the appraiser state its
value at only a hundred dollars, Tefteller thinks the appraiser is
interested in this record, and clutches the record like a big soft teddy
bear - appraiser snaps back "I ain't interested in your record."
Was very funny video that's floating around for Japanese collectors.
Oh, and do remember the old ebay adage - tell Johnny boy too.
CAVEAT EMPTOR. Oh and its nice knowing Goldmine
can meet an eye for an eye or is that browneye.
