Nope - he's saving himself for you (Was that out of line?)

Am I gonna get flamed now? K?

Ow. (pre-emptive)

No, I spoke to Mike on the 'phone the other day. He's saving himself for
YOU, James.

*That* must be why I'm still a virgin! The mystery has finally been solved!

(Somebody should tell him, though, I'm really more interested in Peter.)

i may flame you for missing my 100+ posts that my name is lower case in USENET
land. (Kidding!)

i don't think he's saving himself for anyone. tho if he had any taste, he'd save
himself for Hank, who is kind, sweet, and funny. plus, really likes REM.

k my dear, what in elvis's name are you suggesting?? That, even if I
wasn't a committed raving heterosexual, I'd ever queue - jump
(there's probably a US equivalent "jump ahead in the line"??) past you
to get to Mike to talk to him about anything other than Fender and
Rickenbacker basses or Trace Elliott amplification???

Thanks for the warm fuzzy words though :-)

On a slightly related topic, I've played bass in bands and I've sung
harmony while playing guitar but, in the band I'm playing with now
(Debut show December 27th!!!) I'm playing bass *and* singing harmony.
God it's hard to do!

My appreciation of MM's (and those of Brian Wilson from earlier times)
skills in doing this has increased a thousand fold since we've been
rehearsing. I heard Paul McCartney liken it to patting your head
while rubbing your stomach and that's not too far off.

Any other harmony singing bass players out there? I could use some
pointers here!

i suspect Mills is wise enough to choose a wife, should he choose a wife, on
standards other than oft-stated lust on usenet. I think he could prolly find
better than me out there. :)

These sage words of wisdom will be printed out in a 72 point font
and taped on the back of my bass amp for reference during our first
show :-)

I'm now in a band in which I'm supposed to play bass and sing lead
vocals. The funny part is that I can't sing worth a damn. But they
figured I had the best shot at figuring it out.
