I just saw an episode of MTV's "Daria" where Daria, Trent, and Jane
were going to some sort of rock concert or something (I started
watching about 15 minutes into it). On their way there, they were
listening to "Everybody Hurts" on the radio. Trent said "Hey, this is
just like that R.E.M. video, except you can't read people's minds."
Then it showed Daria, and the words "Thand God" appeared under her,
just like in the video. Cool eh?

that reminds me...on beavis and butthead, they were watching a video for a song
called cry, i forget who it was by, but it was just a bunch of people singing
the song, and all you could see was their face, and when this guy with a shaved
head came up, beavis said "hey, its REM!" i thought that was pretty cool! i
guess they dont think REM sucks, which is good!

I saw shiny happy people on B&B once, like a long time before I grew out
of that phase. Anyway, the song comes on and they're boogying to it and
at the end, Beavis says "you know, this song makes me feel pretty happy
inside." Then Beavis starts singing it, before Butthead beat him up
because he was trying to enjoy the song, or something to that effect.

I remember the video, and the song (sort of) but I can't for the life of me
remeber who sang it. Anyone remember?

Long time I ago B&B wewre watching What;s the frequency, K? And they
liked it. actually I'd rather want that they think it sucks, cuase I
don't like metalheads.
here in Holland we're getting a new Mike Judge show, with a middle aged
man(looks like B&B's neighbour). That's a cool show.

Godley and Creme, I think. I'm not absolutely sure of their names, but I
know that they used to be in 10cc.

King of the Hill, a great show with a different, understated sense of

Yup, Godley and Creme. Produced by Trevor Horn, I think (he's also in the
video). I've actually got this song on a 45 single (god, I'm old!).

I am wondering if you're talking about the "comeback" video from the 80's by
the 70's band 10cc (who did "Things We Do For Love" and "I'm not in Love".
This video's claim to fame was that it was directed by Mike Nesmith of
Monkee fame, and it showed people's faces "morphing" one into
another--different sexes, races, etc. and they were all crying. This was
before computer animation was as sophisticated as today. The video was
showing the universiality of crying.

Hope this helps, I didn't see the episode to which you refer, so if it's not
what you were talking about, forget I said anything.

Kevin Godley and Laurence Creme.

This is my only real claim to fame: 10cc are from round are way and my Dad
was best friends with Lol Creme. They used to go to summer school together
and he (not my dad) used to play his guitar on the train. I think he also
asked my mum out at one time

King of the Hill rules. . . My favorite episode has to be the one when they put Bobby on
ritalin, although the ones after the meglomart incident where Luanne thinks she's Sinead
O'connor are a riot too.

who the hell cares if a pair of cartoon morons like r.e.m. or not. you
shouldn't like them because other people do; you should like them because
you love them and their music, BINKOLITE, and not because of what other
people think about them.

i love that one!

my favorite remains to this day, the one in the first block of episodes where
they went camping and thought they killed the whooping crane. the interrogation
by the ranger was priceless.
