I just went to see this film at an arts cinema near me today, and i noticed
the Michael Stipe connexion; with him being the producer. I was just
wondering whether he had anything more to do with the movie, in a
directorial sense; i felt there was a definite Stipe influence in it. Can
anyone shed any light on this for me? Thanks,
Chris

he was 1 of I think 3 producers. he helped produced it, that's it plane and
simple. he didn't have anything to do with it.

He does if you accept that it was precisely because he feels it was a
knock-out script that it got to the screen. And I think part of the reason
he loved the script so much was because it deals with issues of celebrity
and the extent to which fans feel they think they 'know' the star or seek to
imitate him... celebrity being a topic explored on Monster, New Adventures
In Hi-Fi, Up, and half of the swanky LA parties Michael finds himself at.
