They are, and I like them. They've been a feature since at least as far back
as the Monster tour of 1995. Adds a touch of power, strenth, class and fun,
I think.

Hell, go back a decade before that, if I'm not mistaken.

I am very disappointed by them. They are much too PREDICTABLE and
CONTRIVED. Those *same* dinos are around for every show, and they are
always in the same place! One would think that the band could come up with
some new plastic mascots every now and again, but noooo. I will never again
waste $40 to see those tired old molded reptiles!

Ya know, some people, like say the New Zealanders, never got a chance to
see the dinosaurs, and you have the audacity to complain because poor
little you had to see the same ones over and over again? Grow up, pal.

Rhonda :) :)

Well, to all the New Zealanders who missed the dinosaurs - you can
come over to my house to see them. I have several which are exactly
identical to REM's in a box in the basement. I'm fairly sure, but not
certain, that the box is labelled "dinosaurs." For anyone who comes
all the way from New Zealand, and finds my house, I'll gladly dig out
that box so that we can play with the dinosaurs. Then I'll call the
police and have you arrested.

Hence, "at least as far back as the Monster tour of 1995."

<giggle> as a pokemon fan, I find this particularly amusing...
can you tell me more? in what context was it said?
i was gonna build a pokemon page at some point and if i ever do, i'm gonna
use that quote :)
oh, and, i'm guessing it was at a concert that he said it, so my next
question is, which concert was august 27th?
