Greetings everyone. I'm not trying to start and argument or rehash an old
subject but, it seems everyone has an opinion of Christafari's beliefs. I have
seen many posts in regard to the subject, which I find quite interesting I
might add. I'm wondering if anyone has listened to any of there recordings?

Blessed Love...

Knowing as I do, that righteous Buju Banton literally
pushed lead singer Mark Mohr into another dimension
altogether, because Mark was passing around a prepared
anti-Selassie I propaganda book. Knowing Mark Mohr to
be a confirmed liar, along with notorious Wayne Swiderski,
I then cannot trust his accounts of Buju Banton with a
knife !

This along with the fact that Wayne Swiderski of the
band was appearing in rec.music.reggae and perpetrating
counterfeit postings from his locale in Hamptons, NY,
including counterfeit attacks against I personally.

With limited space available for recordings,
I as the Reggae Department Head at KKUP FM,
received their CD for inclusion into our music library.
I made the choice not to add the CD.
Christafari is the only band that I have ever denied
access into the reggae library, in fact I still have
the CD at home.

Reggae is a simple enough of a beat, for many to be
able to perform it (Steven Seagal), and Christafari
is also a sophmoric attempt at reggae music.

I've heard plenty of worse reggae music than Christafari. The trouble is
people can't separate the music from the off-the-record lives they live.

Let me rehash this old subject cuz I never really spoke my mind in past
discussions... their beliefs, actions, mission, & the delusional arrogance
of this guy Mark Mohr is enuf to make me avoid their music altogether.
Imagine suggesting that the early death of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh & others
was due to their Rastafarianism. That smug, self righteous, "one way"
attitude boils my blood.
If the only way to get into heaven is to be "saved" & think like these
close-minded jerks, then leave me out.... sounds like hell to me. I'd
rather be in the other place with all of the Rastas, Jews, Buddhists,
Muslim, Catholics, etc...... & yes even homosexuals.

In answer to your question, I recieved "Dancehall Baptism" as a promo & out
of fairness, I listened to it, but it eventually it became a coaster for my
bong... ;-) I tried to give it to some other DJ's at the station but no one
would take it.

I think this is true to some extent, but the way I look at it - crap is
crap. add to that their 'off-the-record' lives & you've really got some
crappy crap.

Cool ... love to have seen that event.

Was it a dimension anywhere near to your orbit, perchance?
Or is your orbit just too far out of synch with the real universe for
that?

Their music is very complicated for reggae music. When I asked Jim Fox
from Lion and Fox studios he said he considered Mark Mohr to be a good
producer. I've heard a lot from christafari including their early demo
tape "Tribal Warning" containing four track played with basic
instrumentation and not too difficult compositions, like they have
now. Some parts of the music I think really sound good, but then the
song changes into something completely different, or yet another
bridge, which in my opinnion is not very good for reggae music.

Furthermore, Christafari has created an own style which I call
"unplugged dancehall". It's heavy conga drumming with vocals similar
to what I hear in dancehall.

I think, if you like the lighter Steel Pulse or Aswad, you'll like
them more then when you're into roots or dub. It's highly commercial
but not representative for reggae in general.

Woah,
I am sorry to hear that you are feeling ill,
having stomach problems, and that their music
is a torture for you.

Interesting how some people happen to think
their music is outstanding, as they have,
namely the Right Wing Christian Cable TV Networks.
Messian can't get enough.

"Christafari"
What do they sound like ?

I won't lie and say that their music doesn't
sound well produced - honestly when compared
to what the pagan music set is offering, it's
a nice change.

Their statement of Jesus Christ, set to lyrics
is not an affront to I, except that Christafari,
using Tafari name, never mentions Jah Ras Tafari,
or Haile Selassie - except when Mark Mohr's crew
is in interviews and 'missionary' endeavors trying
to pull Selassie I down - which Buju Banton has
already pointed out. Do you get the point ?
Mark Mohr a confirmed liar here in rec.music.reggae
and he says what about Buju Banton with a knife ?

Their music is a good copy of Jamaican styles,
set to a plot to infiltrate Rastafari and replace
it with themselves !
The music is well produced I cannot deny that,
the music is appealing because the styles they
use are of others.

On their album "Soulfire", I did notice that all
the lions, from hats in photos to other lions,
all portray the lion with the spear staff.
I know that image to be what the Marxist regime
replaced the Double-Crossed Lion, after they had
deposed Haile Selassie I.
"Christafari", Half-wit Christians having not
the theological intelligence to even deal with
Jah Almighty Jah Ras Tafari,
here is why:

These are the same jokers, like Messian Dread,
who don't believe in the Book of Enoch or the
Book of Jubilees, having not the intelligence
beyond their half-wit overstandings about the
Holy Scriptures. Fighting Jah Ras Tafari
divinity, denying books that the Ethiopian
Church accept and preach.

Mark Mohr and crew have no idea of what DIVINE
Haile I and the Roman Empire are all about and
human destiny and Jah Almighty Jah Ras Tafari.
What played out in Ethiopia.

In the heat of battle, against mis-guided ignorance,
I hit heads with Mark Mohr here in rec.music.reggae,
All I wanted to know is why he had both ears pierced
when the Holy Scriptures speak about cutting the skin,
especially because the vanity itself is borne from
the same Babylon body changes, cuttings.
Babylon fashion.

Carbon-copy artists, imitating Jamaican reggae
styles isn't genuine.

Carbon-copy artists,

probably products of having
listened to college reggae radio, aggressive

Mark Mohr asserts on his web-page that
Bob Marley and Peter Tosh found death
because they believe in Haile Selassie I.

One must consider who allowed Christafari to
tour with truly Jamaican acts, notably the
gifted and maligned Buju Banton.

Who is responsible for allowing Christafari to
play on tour with the likes of Buju Banton ?

Someone is satisfied with the carbon-copy

I have been listening to Christafari since I was 16 years old----I am 39 years old now. NO they DON'T suck @JahCedmon...just because someone has a belief different from yours, doesn't mean they suck, that's just your opinion.

Christafari has stayed firm in their Non-denominational Christian faith for 23+ years and hasn't waivered in their message of Love and Biblical teachings and Jesus.

As for Buju Banton and people like @Ras Mikael Enoch saying "righteous Buju Banton" and "I then cannot trust his accounts of Buju Banton with a knife," I submit to you THIS:

Mark Mohr has NEVER in at least the last 23+ years that I know of, promoted any anti-love message oriented music. He has denounced Selassie and promoted Jesus, shoot even Haile Selassie himself tried to set the Rastaman straight back in the day and they didn't listen ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1_Rm1Zo2Q8 ); much easier to continue down their path than turn to Christianity.

Furthermore, Buju Banton in one song ("Murderer") is talking about, "You eat the bread of sorrow drink the wine of violence" and in next ("Boom Bye Bye") he completely contradicts himself and is talking "World is in trouble Anytime Buju Banton come Batty bwoy get up an run, At gunshot me head back Hear I tell him now crew." So if you want to talk about trust and belief, Mark Mohr doesn't contradict himself or his faith, but Buju Banton does and is not consistent. I got it, Buju is anti-gay, ok fine, so is the Bible, but WE do not need to send a message of violence, but Buju as a Rastaman does, so what does that say about trusting his word if he can't even send a consistent message?

That out of the way, Christafari is a Jesus loving Christian band that will either produce positive vibes, promote Christianity and Jesus as the one true Savior, and they will denounce ANYTHING that doe not conform to the Holy Bible.

The Secular music industry will NEVER accept it because of this. They will call their music "sophomoric" or juvenile, and insult it in ANY way possible just to discredit them and not accept them. And that is OK, because even Jesus said "Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved," which is found in Mark 13:13, Matt 10:22, Luke 21:17, and John 15:18.

Jesus also said, "They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me," (John 15:21). So as far as I am concerned, I see live prophecy happening with all the haters out there and on this thread.

As for the quality of their music, on January 3rd, they "topped the Billboard charts for the second week in a row with our second album in a row!" And Billboard maintains their records: http://www.billboard.com/artist/299235/christafari/chart?f=336

religion aside, their music is good, and is quality Reggae. Haters gonna hate.
