Hi, all!
I am very happy to announce that the James P. Johnson Foundation for Music
and The Arts now has a web presence up and running, at
http://jamespjohnson.org The Foundation, which was founded by James P. Johnson's grandson, Barry
Glover in 1995, gives underprivileged children the opportunity to learn about
the development and legacy of the American arts through educational programs,
clinics & workshops on music and dance instruction, and also through special
enrichment and appreciation programs. Several pieces of James P.
Johnson-related merchandise are available (see the "Catalogue" page on that
site), and more are coming in the near future, including at least one item
which will certainly be of some interest to many readers of this newsgroup (I
had a good deal to do with that one - you'll see!).
At any rate, take a look at the site, and let the Foundation know whatcha
think!
Very best regards,
Bob Pinsker
