Our most glorious and mature "femme electro", Shikhee, of Android
Lust, has gone indie, and decided to try Kickstarter to do the minimum
funding, $4K, she needed for her next CD, Crater Volume 1--

And got fully funded in 27 hours, and after five days is 175% funded:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/androidlust/android-lust-crater-vol1

Obviously, we're seeing a leveraging and synergy of several things
here, her well-earned fanbase, her Web expertise, and the good fit
between her project and the Kickstarter mechanism and ethos.

But it's still impressive.

Let there be glorious and mature Kickstarted "femme electro"
throbbing.

She rolled over $10K (250% of sought funding) with half her funding-
period to go yesterday:

She lost it yesterday when it rolled over $10K:

QUOTE (read from bottom up, as usual)

I barely got any work done in all this excitement today. See you later
twitter.

18h Android Lust ‏ @androidlust
I thought it would determine whether I can continue to do this or not.
Looks like I can... at least for a now. Thank you!

18h Android Lust ‏ @androidlust
I am in a bit of disbelief. I feel so grateful. I was pretty nervous
when I launched the campaign. ->

18h Android Lust ‏ @androidlust
The pledge that broke the 10k mark! RT @Sentry_23: I just backed
Android Lust - Crater vol.1 on @Kickstarter http://kck.st/HBwSqO

18h Android Lust ‏ @androidlust
HOLY CRAP!!!! WE JUST HIT 10K!!!!!

END QUOTE

That remark about "whether I can continue to do this or not" hurt my
heart. Bad. Goddam. Don't SAY stuff like that.

Let Shikhee throb as long as she wants.

Funding accomplished, at $14,035 out of $4K sought . . . :

"Did better here than releasing through traditional means."

Yes!

Will Kickstarter be the new preferred indie label?
