When I got a gmail account five years ago, it was basically spamless.
Now it's suffocated by spam and I barely use it on the web at all. It
was better in the mid-'90s with the USENET. Just plain text is all I
need, I don't need more than that. I would gladly give up all the
technologic overload across the years to have everything back like
back in those years.
I'm with you. One reason why many of us have gone to broadband is
because of all of those bandwidth-hogging Flash ads. I've been on the
net since '98 and it was simpler then.

When I was a boy we connected at 300 baud, with an acoustic coupler and
dial-up, through 20 miles of line noise! These damn kids today...
You both sound like a couple of useless old farts. The best thing
