Her name is Alisson Krauss--cool voice huh? The only other place I heard
her was on the Twister soundtrack.I like that song by her, too. Check it
out.

Wanna hear something funny? I always thought it was Dolly Parton! Kinda
sounds like her, doesn't it?

Not proud of this ...

It's Allison Krauss. She's provides some terrific vocals on the aforementioned
Phish song and she's equally impressive by herself or with her band Union
Station. From what I gather, she's gone more mainstream, doing a country/pop
crossover album. I haven't picked it up as I'm afraid to be disappointed, but
if you enjoy some good pickin' accompanied by some sublime harmonies (the male
members of Union Station can really sing), pick up some of her earlier albums.

peace and hugs,

Ahhh such a sweet voice, much like the haunting cry of the most beautiful
songbird of yester year. Wow. The girl got some pipes!

the first time I heard it I could have sworn it was alison krauss, mostly cuz I
opened up the album and read the linear notes.

wow, I must say I'm actually proud of the newsgroup on this one. For
once, we actually answered the question before we had fun with it!
That's how it ought to be, we helped the guy, then we had fun (Dolly
Parton with Phish, now that would be interesting!). And only one
message poking fun at the guy for not knowing! (and it was more in a
joking sense, not cruel, no prob at all!).

And about Alison Krauss, she is a brilliant bluegrass artist who really
deserves more recognition, I urge people to go out and at least get her
greatest hits record, "Now That I've Found You: A Collection" if not
more of her stuff. And remember, her new one is just a side project,
alone without Union Station. I'm sure it's a little more "pop"
accessible, tends to happen when you're not playing with a group of
hardcore bluegrass musicians. It's still 100000 times better than the
other stuff that's getting put out there. Anyway, she's great, I'd love
to see her play with Phish once in a while.

Peace

Travis

Alison Krauss (if you couldn't gather that from previous postings).

She also (I believe) appears with Phish and the benefit they played on 3-17-97
(?). I believe its a benefit for Lake Champlain. I know there are some FMs
floating around so you should be able to find yourself a decent copy.

the Lake Champlain benefit show was on 3-18-97 at the Flynn Theater in
Burlington, VT. Alison Krauss did not sit in.

Tammy Fletcher from the Disciples joined Phish for "I Told You So" and "Love Me
Like a Man".

Is Hanson on Arista?
I never looked into it, but I'd bet Bobby had no idea who he was playing
with.
