First is Truckin' really an ode to the road? I would say it's more
about persevering through hard times and/or getting through life in
general. It is a nice listen while driving, though.

Second, Possum is an awesome driving song...particularly the early
versions of it when Trey just shreds it up.

Demand, last song on Hoist.

Well there's "Driver" but that's not an ode to the rode, in fact it's
not about driving.

Gotta love these guys . . .

But the all time greatest ode to the road Phish tune has GOT to be
Possum.

Truckin' is definitely a road ode, especially since it mentions
traveling to all these different cities and recounting true tours
stories like getting busted in New Orleans and the part about getting
home patching bones just to get back truckin' again.

There's definitely nothing confusing about the meaning of Possum.

The Wedge has multiple meanings, but I love to listen to it when
crossing through central colorado, wyoming, or montana and cresting a
high mountain pass. Especially CO Hwy 14 west of Ft. Collins, or Bear
Tooth Pass on the WY/MT border (aka Hwy 212)!

*Cause it's the ocean flowing in our veins
Oh..That it's the salt that's in our tears
Oh..Cause we could have come so very far
Oh..In at least as many years

Take the highway through the Great Divide!

Listened to this crossing Loveland pass. Blissful.

Indeed . . . a fine example.

Bliss, indeed!

After stopping to smell the mountain air somewhere near the top, I'd
probably choose Divided Sky for the journey on along the high plateau,
where the wind blows high and words utterly fail to capture the beauty
of that environment.

Last time I rode up there in May it looked like this:

Am definitely looking forward to seeing it again en route to
Telluride!

There's some really sexy trees up there:

All the other suggestions in this thread are great. But, the natural
winner has to be Contact.

And I realized I love you
It's not your headlights in front
Your tailpipe, or the skylight above you
It's the way you cling to the road
When the wind tries to shove you
I'd never go riding away
And come back home without you"
