I saw this movie for the umpteenth time last night, it continues to blow me
away...the scenery, the musical sequences...
Has anyone ever seen Sullivan's Travels? The movie Sullivan is trying to write
is called O Brother Where Art Thou? But he can't write it because he feels he
has no experience of the subject matter, which is poverty in the south, so he
takes off on a journey (with the sexy Veronica Lake) very similar to the Coen
Brothers movie.
I wonder if that was the movie he was going to make? I know...it's based on
the Odyssey...so is everything!
My favorite music sequence is when they play I'll Fly Away, but Angel Band at
the end just totally gets me.
Going to watch City Of Lost Children again tonight...Angelo Badalamente did the
music. He did most of David Lynch's movies, including the Straight Story,
which had this one string piece that is just plain gorgeous.
Hot damn I love that old-timey music!
