it's really easy, just play on the A string between the 4th and 7th frets,
occasionally hitting the 7th and open on the E. just repeat it over and over
and over.....

Gotta Jiboo - Bass Tab
from Brent Dutcher <donh...@aol.com>

I was jamming along to Gotta Jiboo yesterday and worked out the bass line.
It's pretty simple, but yet it has quite a groove.

G-------------------------------------------------
D-------------------------------------------------
A-------7---5-4-5---7-------7---5--4-------------- Main Theme
E--0--------------------0--------------7---5------ repeat a lot

and then
when the guitar and bass play every other beat
G------------------------------------------------
D-----------------------4---6-------------------- and just keep
A-----------4---5---7-------------------7---5-4-5 on with the
E--5---7--------------------------0-------------- main theme

Just keep on playing the main theme, Big Tony throws in some little variations
now and then, but that's about it!
Peace,
Brent

It's seven notes, repeated for 20 minutes with no variation (except the
bridge). Are you sure you need tab?

Play along with a tape for about 2 minutes. You'll get it.

The bridge is just walking half-notes up to E (repeat twice):

A B C# D E F# G A E (main riff) (x2)

Remember to play bass notes during the bridge on the backbeat (the "and"s
between beats) to get that oom-pah feel.

No need to be a music snob Cleetus.

I figured out this song on bass a few months ago and my band covers it
occasionally. It works really well with funky clav.

The bass line I scammed from the Gorge show '99 went like this:

G----------------------------------------------
D----------------------------------------------
A--------4-5-4-5-6-7----4-5-4---------
E--0-----------------------------------7-----

This is the main groove, based on an E7 chord.
The song is in A, and the change is a walk up the A major scale twice.
Improvise throughout the song using notes from A major. But don't
leave out that low E root!
