** Do glass pipes set off metal detectors? **

This is probably a stupid question, but if i walk thru a metal
detector (at an airport) with my glass piece, will the detector go
off? I know it's just glass, but i believe there's some minimal amount
of metal mixed in with it (silver, gold, etc.)

going on a plane, your pretty much asking for trouble...pack it in a bag dude

You should probley boil it first to get out all the resin. If there is
not any of that in there it is a tobbaco pipe.

I personally think its safer in your pocket. WHou know what drug sniffing
dogs might be used for luggage. IF its on you at least you know where it is.

I totally disagree. Pack anything you have on you. Your check-on bags will be
scanned. The bags you check can be searched and dog sniffed. If it's in your
pocket, they must have probable cause to search you.

no it won't. i usually pack it in my carry-on(i hate checked baggage)
and let it got through the machine. i have done it about 8 times and
never had a problem. checked baggae would porbaly be safer but either
should work fine

This is true it happened to me flying to vages for last years show. I
made shure I had no metal on me (including keys, rings, change,
buckles). I kept my pouch in the crotch of my pants. The metal
detector went off. They called a lady with a wand, and still it went
off, it focussed on no place inparticular. She patted me down. I was
sweattin'. They didn't find anything. Needless to say, I shipped my
goods back home. I wasn't gonna go through that again, especially in no
tolerance land. Mabe it was a fluke, but I will not try that again!

Actually I've been waiting for a time to mention this. If you remember in
one of the "beverly hills cops" movies with Eddie Murphy the bad guys pack
drugs in coffee...to make it past dogs and stuff....in elementary school
there was a progrma called D.A.R.E. where cops came and talked to us about
drugs and stuff....he said that thanks to that movie they were making a lot
of busts! the reason being..cuz a lot of criminals after seeing that movie
started doing that..packing drugs in coffee..and thinking they were eluding
the cops and dogs..but in all actuallity (says the cop) the coffee makes the
drug scent stand out!!!!
So there...what I would do (and haven't yet) is to completely clean pipes
and stuff (let sit in everclear or bleach or something) and pack the weed in
lotsa layers of bags and foil and what not..then in socks...in a box or
two..and wrap the box with gift wrapping...then if they take it out say it
is a gift for whoever you are visiting...a gift of socks or underwear or
whatever!
How is that?

dogs can smell right through the coffee.. im sure if you do a search on
dogs or dope dogs youll find the info.. coffee doesnt work.. love,

probably cause would be after the pipe sets off the metal detector...i've
packed my bowl in my suitcase many many times...if you are really worried,
clean it by boiling it in water, and wrap it up in socks or t-shirts. i've
never had a problem with dogs sniffing my bags, i always pack any nugs im

taking with me in coffee grinds..this resolves the problem of dogs.

As far as the pipes go, just clean it and carry a small pouch of tabacco on you
and say its for tabacco. If you have nugs...couldn't help ya. I'd keep it on
me though.

My sister's boyfriend works for the World Bank and often travels with drugs
and/or a bowl of some sort - his advice on where to stash is:

buy a stick deoderant
extend the deoderant completely out
carve a space in the lower end of the stick
stash your goods
re-insert the deoderant back into the plastic casing
rolling it all the way back down
close the deoderant
now, just pretend it is just deoderant

Probably one of the best ways to stash
and he travels a lot, in and out of the states to Angola, Jakarta, even
Amsterdam

If someone ever gets to the point of searching your deoderant - they(the dogs)
will not be able to smell the drugs and no one can see goods hidden inside -
hell, you can even use it with the goods stashed

just an fyi or 2 dogs can smell right through anything.. how do you
think they find ppl lost under snow banks and shit.. the coffee and the
deoderant wont work.. not to mention it makes your weed taste like
shit.. the airport ppl wont mess with you unless youre doing something
wierd .. i tuck the hair and stash anything in my underwear its never
failed. youd really have to give em a reason to search your body ..
especially your crotch area.. : ) i always go to the line with the
chick security.. especially at shows.. so just so you know.. the smell
fooling the dogs trick will not work !!! dont try it.. love for all,

Just some info for people who often fly through Newark Itl. Airport in New
Jersey...Also for the ones who just happen to connect a flight through...The
past two times I've been there(Within the past month) I have seen 2 coppers
with their puppies...I have "traffic'ed" stuff but after seeing them...hmm...No
