Hey everyone,
Has anyone else besides me ever thought that a lot of Phish's songs would
make great children's songs?? Not all of them, but a nice handful. Especially
a lot of the "dog" theme songs. Here are a list of some I would like to see on
a Phish (or maybe just Trey) children's album:

Driver
Runaway Jim
Dog Log
Dogs Stole Things
Guyute (maybe)
Waste
Contact
Halley's Comet

Gosh, there's got to be more. List some that I haven't!!!

Peace!
Charles

I dunno.. if I were a kid and I heard the "I'm bouncing like a newborn elf.."
part of Guyute.. I'd probably forget I was potty trained. =)

How can you possibly have a Children's album without Sparkle! I can see a room
full of little kids trying to dance along to this, haha... that'd be great.
Sparkle was MADE for a children's album ;-)

i'm not sure if the kid's parents would approve of a song about stepping on
dogshit, but i guess if they don't catch the meaning it'd be cool. really cool
idea though.

Bathtub Gin has child-like lyrics, except the gin parts. umm...Fuck Your Face,
no no wait, i'm sorry that wouldn't work

Glide
Sleeping Monkey (for kids who don't know much about sex)

Merry Christmas everyone.

hahaha!!!

I'm sure alot of you already know this, but in the Phish Book, Trey
talks about how him and his mother made a childrens album when he was
in college. The whole end jam of Lizards came from one of the songs,
and I believe some of the music for Tela might have too. Just thought
I'd throw it out there...

Peace,
Jeff
(who would have thought Gamehenge was really cool when he was little)

Yeah, if memory serves, quite a bit of the old Trey stuff (most of
Gamehendge, McGrupp, Skippy the Wondermouse) was written for his Mom's kid's
album - not necessarily the lyrics, just the music. (and obviously it's
changed some in 20 years or whatever.)

Actually, Trey's Mom (used to?) work(s) for Sesame Street the magazine. I
remember seeing a page once on the web (it was linked here on RMP about 3
years ago) that was a page from the Sesame Street magazine. IIRC, it had
some fish (maybe in an aquarium) and some building blocks that spelled out
"TREY." There were some other references too, but I haven't seen the page
in years. I don't know, it might have been a coincidence.

I think that the fact that some of Trey's earliest exposure to music and in
fact show biz in general came from Sesame Street, explains many things. (I
think the guys are Muppets. We've all been fooled into thinking they were
real, but actually, they're the most sophisticated marionettes ever created.
; )
