Okay, I may be off-base here, but I have to say this.

I realize they claim to be donating "a portion of NET proceeds" to
Waterwheel, but I find it interesting that they don't really post, or
contribute anything to this forum that's not related to selling their
wares here.

I notice that they mention the Seven Below>Ghost at Albany as proof that
they're real fans of the band. But seriously, how difficult would it be
to pick a topic in a previous thread and quote it as a qualifier in
their sales pitch? I don't recall any real (non sales pitch related)
posts from this person(s) ever. All we see is the weekly Phan Art
advertisements and they just started appearing a few weeks ago,
coinciding with 3.0 and Christmas...how convenient.

I'd like to see them post something related to the band and their music,
that's not tied to them selling something. Originally I thought it was
an interesting thing...bringing the lot art to this NG, but now it seems
a bit more commercial and unrelated to why we're here.

Am I wrong, or does anyone else smell the BS? They may not be using
real names for the Bobbleheads, but I would think the band would still
have an issue, especially Jon...who else could that be and they throw
all the Jon references together, like the Viking helmet and the vacuum
and the outfit, just to make sure everyone gets it.

I didn't see anything related to Page, maybe they couldn't figure out
how to do it without the keys...what, no Lawn Boy references, or maybe
they're unaware of that. But Trey is just ridiculous, not only is it
the worst likeness, but Red? I don't know, it just seems fake to me and
as fan of the band, I find it a bit uncomfortable, but maybe it's just me.

It's been brought to my attention that the bobblehead person and Phanart
are not the same people. So I apologize if I offended anyone by
association.

I have noticed the ads but have more often than not ignored them. I
think it maybe exploitative but hey this is capitalism, it is our duty
to ignore the spam and not give them our cash, I am going to buy the
NYE run instead and give the band and waterwheel some funds.

No need to be hostile... I come in peace! :) I used to be a regular
poster here for years. I met lots of great people here who know me.
My screen name was tetris666- search me. Do you want to know how many
shows I've been to and how long I've been seeing Phish to take me
seriously? First show was May 1, 1993 at the Tower Theater in Upper
Darby (hometown) and MSG 3 was my 79th show. I am a stay-at-home Mom
who wanted to work from home so I started selling the bobbles because
I am friends with the person who manufactures them.

Look guys- You don't have to buy them. I think they are awesome and
people who already have them seem to think so too.

If you think the price is too high, make me an offer! :-)

I think they're pretty cool, which is why I clicked on the link in the
first place. Worth maybe 30. If I'd seen them in the lot for $40, I
would have said, "wow, look at the lot inflation. 25 bucks for a t
shirt, 40 for one of those, 3 for a sticker......what ever happened to
hippie prices? I guess you could justify 40. But 98 dollars? You do
not get any sympathy from me - unless they are either a) stuffed full
of some other goodies that I'd like to find in my Christmas stocking
or b) make of 14 karat gold.

its cool, thank you for making the correction and not connecting me
with the bobblehead person(s). relatedly, i ahve been on RMP for quite
a few years, but as you may have noticed, the online RMP community has
diminished rapidly and there is little discussion. I take part in
many message boards and the PhanArt book and now blog have been well-
known and discussed at length among them. RMP is not exception, but
it is on a smaller scale. i update RMP as i would other online sites
- twitter, facebook, PT, RT, ohkeepa, etc..., with the new art that
FANS have for sale. fans who take part in the site are not charged by
me, but instead make an independent donation to Mockingbird. it has
raised in the last two months alone over $250, with a total of $1250+
since early February, 2009. Mockingbird has received impressive
donations and we are glad to take part in their worthy cause.

its the holiday season, there were alot of great items on the blog,
few are PhanArt direct, including the book PhanArt: The Art of the
fans of Phish. we only post what is of interest to the fans. while
hippies understand capitalism, they understand community better.

on a side note, the bobblehead person or persons are unknown to me.
