Yeah, what's up with this Tillman guy, who feels compelled to chime in on every
single thread, multiple times, 40 times a day?
So now what happens?

Uh-oh.
(Cue theme from Dragnet)
Now I'm not too sure about this, because I never saw "Dragnet" ( me being so
young and all ) but if it's what I think it is - "DA / dum dum dum / DA
dum" - imagine the eldritch cackling that goes on in any opera house when
the fourth act of "I Vespri Siciliani" gets underway with EXACTLY that
theme. Last time I saw the work, aeons ago at the Coliseum ( home of ENO )
with Rosalind Plowright as Elena, the audience made such an
"ooh-aah-tee-hee-nudge-nudge" racket, Mark Elder stopped conducting and
started again. Do you think Wagner could have written the title music for
"NYPD Blue" ? ( Answers on a postcard ) SJT
I got a search request for "Stella Artois ringtone" on my blog. Not that I
have downloads of anything, especially not ringtones, but I wonder if they
had the intelligence to search for "Forza " ringtone, which almost certainly
doesn't exist!
And I wonder if Stella Artois will have the chutzpah to advertise in the
programme for the new production of Forza at ROH in the autumn.
What happens, MarkToinette (watch out for the guillotine), is that this
Tillman guy will continue chiming in on every single (any double?)
thread, multiple times, 80 times a day, just for you to enjoy.
That's what happens. Kewl, huh?
Best,
Leonard Tillman

If living in our times? Perhaps.

Who's in the cast??
Only if Muti agrees to the overture being played by a harmonica. SJT
Oh he will! This will be the new Born-Again Muti. "To hell with what Verdi
wrote. We're going to do it MY WAY!"

Best,
Leonard Tillman
Salvatore Licitra/Violetta Urmana/Ambrogio Maestri (is he the man who was
Falstaff in the La Scala production shown on Artsworld in February?)
The actual production is imported from La Scala.

WHEN will we see this New-Improved Muti??
I wished he'd have been so, with his two commercial Pagliaccis. He made
Carreras (and later, even Pavarotti!!!) take the lower-note version of
"A venti trrrrreeee-oooooorrr-e". I love the unwritten "higher option".
It's one of the opera's grand moments.
In C minor the theme would be:
C D E flat C F sharp
With the rhythm:
Duh duh Duh Duh Duh
-david gable

D'oh. I sit corrected. SJT

Yeah, me too. :-)))
I believe so. I'm looking forward to hearing Maestri, as he's said to
be phenomenal vocally.

Perhaps we'll see it here, on Opera NY, a weekly feature on WNYE-tv
on Thursday evenings. They often have ROH productions.
Wasn't his catchphrase "The fachs, ma'am , just the fachs"
Sorry ! (and cue lynch mob)

Exactly so! - and the lynchmob is cancelled.
Friday, as we know, was also a pal of Caruso, -- Robinson Caruso, to be
specific.
They're said to have composed various Island songs. The lyrics were
mysteriously lost, however, never to resurface....
Just as well, since none of them likely had the beat of Friday's
"Dragnet March".
