I agree that "Is This a Cool World or What?" (Epic, out of print) is a great
pop album. "We Are Not Alone" was only a "bestseller" by virtue of being
included on the Breakfast Club soundtrack. It wasn't a hit itself.

Karla recorded a second solo album, "Wake 'em up in Tokyo", for A&M.
Didn't sell squat (neither did the first one, for that matter). Wasn't half
as good as the first, either. At least one song featured lyrics co-written
by Robbie Benson, though.

Karla was also involved with the group Orchestral Luna in the '70's, for
those who have long memories. Though she never recorded with them. She
recorded a duet with Paul Anka (!) that was released on one of his albums
in the early '80's. And she released a Christmas single in the early
'80's that never appeared on any album.

The title track of "Is This a Cool World of What?" was used by
Budweiser for an ad campaign in the early '80's.

AND, in the truth-is-stranger-than-fiction catagory, Robbie Benson
actually released his first (and only) record before Karla! Benson
released a single on Arista records around 1975. It was among the first
singles ever released on Arista (it may have been the first). I am
not aware of any other Robbie Benson releases...
