This seems like an appropriate time to post "The Steve List". I compiled this
list some time ago (with help from the net) after I had observed that there
were a lot of guitarists named "Steve". Any additions/corrections to the list
are welcome.

The only requirements for being included on the list are that the person
must use "Steve", "Stevie", "Steven", or "Stephen" as a performing *first*
name, and their primary instrument must be 6- or 12-string guitar (combination
vocalist/guitarist counts, too). Include a group name if they played with one.
They should also be relatively well-known - don't send me your "best friend
from high school that was really awesome on guitar" (unless, of course, he
meets the above requirements).

Also, don't send me people like Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks,
Stevie Wonder, etc. These are all well-known, respected (by some) artists,
but they are recognized mostly as vocalists (or vocalist/pianist in the
case of Stevie Wonder). Steve Martin doesn't count either (banjo != guitar).

Here's my list:

Here are a few Steve's you can add to the list.

Steve Cropper Sam and Dave, Blues Brothers
Steve Khan Steely Dan, Michael Franks, Bob James
Steve Holland Molly Hatchet
Steve Katz BS&T
Steve Kimock Goodman Brothers, John Cippolina's band (RIP)

I myself prefer to be a Larry, Larry Carlton that is.
