Hi, I'd posted this article last week, but I'm not sure it made it to
the net...so I'm posting it again. The other time I sent it under
a JAPAN heading instead of DALI'S CAR. This week I noticed a posting
asking opinions on Dali's Car. They must have missed my two cents.
I recommend this album highly...but of course I'm slightly biased
when it comes to any Peter Murphy project. The music is kinda dreamy
at times and (I think) very Japan-like. Peter's voice is close to
perfect. (IMHO of course). My favourite cuts are -Cornwall Stone-
and -The Judgement is the Mirror- . It's definately available on
vinyl and tape, but I've yet to see it on CD. If anyone out there
has a CD of it, please email to me the label and catalogue number.
I have every Bauhaus CD, All 3 Love and Rockets CDs, Peter's two
albums on CD plus a single (3 inch) CD, and a Tones on Tail CD.
The Dali's Car CD would complete my collection.

Oh, about the Dali's Car album cover...Yes, Moody Blues did use the
same artwork for one of their albums, but it actually is artwork by
someone else. I forget just who did the original. I like the
Dali's Car copy better...compare the two if you get the chance.

So, anyway, here's that article I posted last week that noone read:

> Since we're all discussing Japan and what the ex-members are
doing nowadays, I figured I'd throw in a plug for the Dali's
Car project. It was a one album kinda deal with Peter Murphy
doing vocals and Mick Karn doing most of everything else.
There was a third person helping out, but I forget who he
was. Anyway, on the poster and in the video (The Judgement is
the Mirror) only Murphy and Karn were featured. Its well done
and worth a listen...even if you don't like Bauhaus...and
especially if you don't like Bauhaus, for that matter. As
Peter would say, its very esoteric.

ps. The album - Dali's Car...The Waking Hour - was released
by Paradox Records and Beggars Banquet in 1984.
DOX LP1.

Oh, yeah, the CD's available pretty much everywhere. Stop by a
Tower Records or something of the sort. I'll get the catalog
number and send you mail. It doesn't have the extra song from
the EP, though. (do you actually like Murphy's solo stuff? ack)

The original painting was by Maxfield Parrish.
