This is by no means all the bands coming. To save bandwidth
and to save my fingers from more typing, I've only included
the main acts. If interested, tickets can be sold through
Ticketron. This is going to be a great time, so if you're in
the area, give it a try!!

Has anyone seen these guys in concert? I've heard that they sing
to a TAPE of the music; they don't perform live. As a result, their
production costs are VERY low and they don't ask for a lot of money
(they wanted $10 - $15 K to play here, which is DIRT CHEAP!)

So, has anyone seen them yet? How was it?

I saw them here in Portland last December and they were fantastic!
They weren't serious for one minute--they started their show with
the opening to the old Star Trek series ("Space..the final frontier"),
and had some Star Trek cuts in between songs which were hysterical.
They even have ticker-tape screen which they use to display
funny messages during the songs ("Everyone throw dollar bills
at the stage", "If you don't like this song, you can suck my
dick", OK you had to be there).

Yes, they use some backup tape, but no more than Thomas Dolby,
or a lot of other groups. I was surprised at how different their
album sounded, which I'm not thrilled about. Kurt, the lead
singer sounds like a hundred other dreary techno-pop vocalists on
the album, but he sounds much different in concert--he has sort of a
geeky nasal voice. None of the instruments were on tape, as far
as I could tell. The audience didn't stop moving for a second.

Information Society is by far the funnest group I have ever seen.
