On the same "Inspector Morse"-CD is:
"SENZA MAMMA" from Suor Angelica,
it is from Puccini and is published by Ricordi & Co
In both cases the soprano solist is Janis Kelly and the orchestra is
conducted by Barrington Pheloung.
These two songs honnestly belong to the most beautiful music I've ever
heard. Yet, I'm unfamiliar with classical music, certainly where the
vocal work is concerned.
Q1. Could anyone tell me how to obtain the CD where "LAUDATE DOMINUM"
is taken from
(i.e. vesperae solennes de confessore K339) ?
Q2. Same question for "SENZA MAMMA" from Suor Angelica
Q3. Does anyone know other work where Janis Kelly is the solist and
Barrington Pheloung the conductor ?
Q4. For the experts of the genre. Now that you know 2 examples of what
I really appreciate, could you recommend me some other music that is
equally or even more divine ?

Mozart's Requiem comes to mind. Similar to the Laudate Dominum, except
twice as good...

I don't find any movements of the Requiem similar in mood to the Laudate
Dominum of K339. The Et Incarnatus Est from the Great C-minor Mass is,
however.
