Why does Mike Jackson grab his crotch

is a talented performer. So, why does he grab his crotch (over and over)
in the new video? I thought it was a little odd. Personally, I like watching
him dance, but the crotch grabbing has got to go. What do you think motivated
it. I'm sure that he and his associates give serious thought to the
content of
every second of his videos and songs. I really like parts of that
video, especially
the scenes where they merge various faces together. And the use of the
panther.
But IMHO the crotch grabbing is better left to Madonna.

EXACTLY!!! That is indeed where he got it from. He figured, people enjoy watching
her grab her snatch, maybe they'd enjoy watching him grab his snatch
I swear that's how my friends and I figured it. I liked the singing part of the
video best. THe rest was not impressive. Is it true the video for
DANGEROUS will be released next?

My guess is that he grabs it to make sure it's still there. He surgically
altered everything else.

You mean that you could HEAR the singing? The first thing I noticed about
that song was that the introduction was too long, too repetitive, went on
for longer than was necesary, and went through the same sequence of notes
too many times. Not only that, but it repeated too much.
The second thing I noticed was that when he started to sing, I could hardly
hear him. I can't believe that in something like a Michael Jackson song
there could be any screwups, but I also cannot believe that they intended
the instruments to COMPLETELY overshadow the guy's voice.
The crotch grabbing was offensive, and the violence was senseless. Whether
anyone likes it or not, this guy is a role model for thousands of kids.
Just what the hell kind of message was he sending by doing a nice song
about everybody getting along, and then going on to senselessly smash up
cars and windows?
The effects of the melding people and the transformations of Michael
were fantastic, though.

Ahem. Madonna, in "Express Yourself" and anywhere else she grabs
her crotch on video, was following MJ's lead, not vice versa. Go
look at any of Michael's earlier videos, and when he dances, he
fingers his crotch.
Nobody particularly cared when he did it. When Madonna grabs her
crotch, however, western civilization is apparantly headed out
the door.
Sexism. Can't beat it.
