Well then, while we're on the topic, anyone ambitious enough to
post the lyrics to "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting"? There's
another tough one.
Oh yea, if anyone knows Paul Simon, I'll include this here to save space.
From "Rene and Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After the War",
How about the chorus?
You know... "The penguins,
The moon glow
The Oreos
The F*****(?)
From now and ever after..."
Anyone care to take me up on either of these? PLEASE?

okay, here goes:
verse 1:
--------
it's getting late have you seen my mates
ma tell me when the boys get here
it's seven o'clock and i wanna rock
wanna get a belly full of beer
my old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys
and my old lady she don't care
my sister looks cute in her braces and boots
a handful of grease in her hair
chorus:
-------
so don't give us none of your aggravation
we've had it with your dicipline
oh saturday night's alright for fightin'
get a little action in
get about as oiled as a diesel train
gonna set this dance alight
'cause saturday night's the night i like
saturday night's alright alright alright
ooh
verse two:
----------
well they're packed pretty tight in here tonight
i'm looking for a dolly to see me right
i may use a little muscle to get what i need
i may sink a little drink and shout out she's with me
a couple of sounds that i really like
are the sounds of a switchblade and a motor bike
i'm a juvenile product of the working class
whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass
ooh
chorus:
-------
so don't give us none of your aggravation
we've had it with your dicipline
oh saturday night's alright for fightin'
get a little action in
get about as oiled as a diesel train
gonna set this dance alight
'cause saturday night's the night i like
saturday night's alright alright alright
ooh
so don't give me none of your aggravation
we've had it with your dicipline
oh saturday night's alright for fightin'
get a little action in
get about as oiled as a diesel train
gonna set this dance alight
'cause saturday night's the night i like
saturday night's alright alright alright
ooh
coda:
-----
saturday saturday saturday saturday
saturday saturday saturday saturday
saturday night's alright
(repeat and fade)
whew! hope you appreciate it!
well, you asked for it, & I've got nothing better to do.....
It's gettin' late, have you seen my mates?
Ma, tell me when the boys get here.
It's seven o'clock and I wanna rock,
Wanna get a belly full of beer.
My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys
and my old lady she don't care.
My sister looks cute in her braces and boots,
a handful of grease in her hair.
So don't give us none of your aggravation,
we've had it with your discipline.
Saturday night's alright for fightin'
get a little action in.
Get about as oiled as a diesel train,
gonna set this dance alight.
'cause Saturday night's the night I like,
Satudrday night's alright, alright, alright.
Well they're packed pretty tight in here tonight,
I'm looking for a dolly who'll see me right.
I may use a little muscle to get what I need,
I may sink a little drink and shout out, "She's with me!"
A couple of the sounds that I really like
are the sound of a switchblade and a motorbike.
I'm a juvenile product of the working class
Whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass.
etc choruses.

They're the names of four oldies groups and, if you listen carefully,
the background singers sing the titles of their hits. It reads:
The Penguins (Earth Angel)
the Moonglows (Sincerely)
The Orioles (In the Chapel)
The Five Satins (Down the Isle) {even though the correct title is
"To the aisle"}
Now if someone could post the chanting at the beginning of "Diamonds on
the Soles of her Shoes", then I'd be impressed.
Gregg.
