I don't know about any *popular* bands, but I know he was the drummer for
a group called "Chameleon Church" back in the late sixties.

That doesn't say much about his capabilities as a drummer......but he
was great at aping Gerry Ford falling down.

True, but the aforementioned "clown" is referring to Steely Dan.

Chevy Chase attended Bard College at roughly the same time as Dan co-founders
Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, and indeed did play drums in various campus
pickup bands of theirs (with typical late-60s names such as "Leather Canary").

This has never been a particularly big secret among fans of either Steely
Dan or Chevy Chase. In fact, DF and/or WB commented in a comparatively
recent interview that CC was actually a pretty good drummer; I heard him
in National Lampoon "Lemmings" in 1973 (where he split the drumming duties
with John Belushi), and I agree.

I'm sorry to E-Mail to you based on another/ only tangentially / related
message... I was wondering if there were any Steely Dan interpretive
TXT files or Books in existence which are currently available, and also
is there any way to obtain songs which were not included on any of their
more popular albums which don't even appear on the "All Inclusive" box
set...?

I would like to find out more about the Steely Dan Book "Reelin' in the
Years". What bookstore, and in what location did you see this book? I would
like to know if it is available here in Canada.

"Reelin' In the Years" is by Brian Sweet of the UK who started the Steely
Dan Fangazine "Metal Leg." I've seen it from the UK but not in the USA
yet. Don't know about Canada. Excellent book as there are no others.
