Hello everyone!

I just wanted to cordially invite all y'all to check out the new
OFFICIAL web site dedicated to Sly & the Family Stone, located at:

http://www.slyfamstone.com/

Ever since 1993 I have been the webmaster of an unofficial web
site (one of the first on the web dedicated to a musical group)
for Sly & the Family Stone, which originated from my own
work and that of many other funk fans, particularly Maria
Granditsky and Rob Clough. Eventually, the site began to
receive attention worldwide, and one-by-one I was put into contact
with all of the original bandmembers, and many others who were
instrumental in the group's success.

These generous folks all began making contributions to the site,
such as the group's original manager David Kapralik, A&R man
and photographer Stephen Paley, and the group members themselves,
particularly drummer Greg Errico. One day, I found out that the
group members had discussed amongst themselves the idea of each
contributing some money to sponsor an OFFICIAL Sly & the Family Stone
Web Site, and what you will see is the result of all of our efforts.

For those of youe xpecting to see the same old site, forget it!
The site has been completely reorganized and redesigned, with
a lot of help from Dutch web designer Marco 't Hart. An
incredibly rare group photograph for the front page was donated to the
site by the group's archivist, Neal Austinson. And, thanks to the
people at The Dream Factory (http://www.thedreamfactory.com/) the site
has been thoroughly enhanced with tons of RealAudio and RealVideo
clips, so you can hear the group's songs (most of which are in their
entirety!)

Check it out, tell your friends, and don't forget to fill in the
guestbook!!!

Take care
Jon Dakss
