*** NOTE: No charts will be posted out to subscribers on Tuesday 31st Aug

*** Tuesday 14th Sept (chart dated 19th Sept) as I'll be on holidays in
*** Queensland. The last posting before I go away will be on Tuesday 24th
*** Aug (chart dated 29th Aug). To check out the Australian top 50 singles
*** and albums chart during this period, go to http://www.aria.com.au/
The top 3 remain unchanged this week as Pearl Jam's "Last Kiss" is
again at number one. However, South Australia and the Northern
Territory still have "Kiss Me", by Sixpence None The Richer, at the
top of their local chart - six weeks after that single left the
number one position on the national chart.
The highest new entry this week is from English boy band, Five. Over
the last 12 months, this 5-piece pop group has scored five (ironically
enough!) top 10 hits in a row, the fifth being this week's new entry
at number 4 titled "If Ya Gettin' Down".
The "Version 2.0" album, from the group Garbage, gave them a top 40 hit
in May last year titled "Push It". This week, the latest release from
that album is titled "When I Grow Up", and it debuts at number 22 this
week, and thus becomes their highest ever charting single in Australia.
English group, Steps, have enjoyed huge success around the world with
their album "Step One", which gave them the Australian chart-topper from
last year, "5, 6, 7, 8", the top 5 single "Last Thing On My Mind", and
also the ballad "One For Sorrow" plus their double A-sided top 10
hit, "Heartbeat / Tragedy". From their forthcoming album comes this
week's new entry at number 30 titled "Love's Got A Hold On My Heart".
This single debuted at number 2 in the U.K. when released, and continues
with the catchy dance/pop sound that Steps are renowned for.
The hit movie, "Eyes Wide Shut", featuring husband and wife team,
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise, has a soundtrack out. The first
single to be lifted off that is actually a single that charted way
back in 1995. "Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing", by Chris Isaak, peaked at
number 27 and was lifted from his album "Forever Blue". This week,
it re-enters the charts at number 35 after an almost four year absence.
Kate Ceberano's current album, "True Romantic", is a collection of
her past hits plus a couple of new songs. On this album you'll find
hits like "Bedroom Eyes" - which spent six weeks at number 2 on the
charts back in 1989 - and her top 10 hit from last year, "Pash".
This week, a new song from that album, "I Won't Let You Down", enters
the charts at number 50 this week. "I Won't Let You Down" was originally
a reggae song released in the 80s by a group called PhD. Check out the
official Kate Ceberano web site at http://www.kateceberano.com.au/.

9. This week's feature song lyrics
-------------------------
IF YA GETTIN' DOWN - Five
-------------------------
If ya gettin' down, baby
I want it now, baby
Come and get it on, baby
I want it now, baby
Say number one, say number one
I wanna take a little time
To refresh your mind
'Cos the boyz are back in town
With a different kind of funk
Who gots da funk?
Who gots da funk - right
Everybody wanna boogie down tonight
Now throw your hands up in the sky
Move 'em around from side to side
I got what it takes
The beats that brace
The funky bass
I'll give your body crazy shakes, come on
I heard somebody say (what?)
She's at the party so (huh)
I'm gonna get me some (uh)
If ya gettin' down, baby
I want it now, baby
Come and get it on, baby
I want it now, baby
If ya gettin' down, baby
I want it now, baby
Come and get it on, baby
I want it now, baby
Wiggy, wiggy, I'm gettin' jiggy
Open up the door, got the keys to your city
You're looking kinda pretty
Dance 'til you drop and it don't stop
Until it go pop
Dance how you wanna dance
Let's all get down while we got da chance
I still got 12 seconds on the clock that's mine
And I ain't gonna stop 'til the sun don't shine
Line after line
I flow like rhyme after rhyme
Just like time after time
Keep it up 'til you feel the heat
And get down once you hear the beat, uh, uh
I heard somebody say (what?)
She's at the party so (huh)
I'm gonna get me some (uh)
If ya gettin' down, baby
I want it now, baby
Come and get it on, baby
I want it now, baby
If ya gettin' down, baby
I want it now, baby
Come and get it on, baby
I want it now, baby
There ain't no problem that we can't fix
'Cos we can do it in the mix
Now if your man gives you trouble
We'll be in there on the double
Guaranteed we'll be hittin' for six, come on, yeah
I heard somebody say (what?)
She's at the party so (huh)
I'm gonna get me some (uh)
If ya gettin' down, baby
I want it now, baby
Come and get it on, baby
I want it now, baby
If ya gettin' down, baby
I want it now, baby
Come and get it on, baby
I want it now, baby

LOVE'S GOT A HOLD ON MY HEART - Steps
-------------------------------------
(Heart heart heart heart heart heart heart)
Love's gotta hold of my heart
(Love's gotta hold of my heart)
I'm calling out
Won't somebody out there hear my S.O.S
(S.O.S)
Throw me a lifeline, please, and save me
There's no doubt
Baby, you took me prisoner I confess
When you crossed my defences
And captured my heart
And now it's too late to put up a fight
I thought I was strong but as hard as I try
Can't break away
Darling, there's no way out
Nothing can help me now
Love's gotta hold on my heart
(My heart, my heart heart heart heart)
(Love's gotta hold on my heart)
There's no escape (there's no escape)
Now I'm like a damsel in distress
Trapped in this fairytale forever (ooh)
And no mistake
It's tragic but I'll have to face the truth I guess
Live evermore resigned to my fate
'Cos now it's too late (much too late) to put up a fight
I thought I was strong but try as I might
Can't break away
Darling, there's no way out
Nothing can help me now
Love's gotta hold on my heart, yeah yeah
Love's gotta hold on my heart
Hold on my heart
Hold on my heart
(Love's gotta hold on my)
(It's gotta hold on my heart)
(Heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart)
Oh oh
(Heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart)
Yeah, Ooh oh
And now it's too late to put up a fight
I thought I was strong but try as I might
Can't break away
Darling, there's no way out
Nothing can help me now
Love's gotta hold on my heart (heart)
Can't break away
Darling, there's no way out
Nothing can help me now
Love's gotta hold on my heart, ooh ooh
Love's gotta hold on my heart
---------------------------
SHE'S SO HIGH - Tal Bachman
---------------------------
She's blood, flesh, and bone. No tucks or silicone
She's touch, smell, sight, taste and sound.
But somehow I can't believe that anything should happen
I know where I belong and nothings gonna happen
Cause, She's so high, high above me. She's so lovely
She's so high, like Cleopatra, Joan of Ark or Aphrodite
She's so high, high above me
First class and fancy free, she's high society
She's got the best of everything
What could a guy like me ever really offer?
She's perfect as she can be, why should I even bother
Cause, She's so high, high above me. She's so lovely
She's so high, like Cleopatra, Joan of Ark or Aphrodite
She's so high, high above me
She comes to speak to me, I freeze immediately
Cause what she says sounds so unreal
Cause somehow I can't believe that anything should happen
I know where I belong and nothings gonna happen
Cause, She's so high, high above me. She's so lovely
She's so high, like Cleopatra, Joan of Ark or Aphrodite
She's so high, high above me
