Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about the Smiths.
Everyone seemed to pretty much agree that Meat is Murder and Louder
than Bombs were really good but that nothing is better than
actually listening to the material. I guess I'll be heading down to the
listening bar at my CD store....

If you're lucky, you might run into an import (to the U.S.) called "A
Hatful of Hollow"; it's a restored version of their debut album, using
the original hit single/Peel Session cuts in place of rerecordings
made for the debut album which critics, fans and the band felt were
not as good as the originals.

In Canada, it's domestic on record and cassette and the CD is imported
but can be found at domestic prices (our laws are different) unless
the shop is trying to take advantage of the buying public's ignorance.
