7. This week's top 50:

Green Day's "Redundant" and "Time Of Your Life" slips back to number five
this week after 5 weeks playing second-fiddle to the biggest selling
single yet again this week. Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing"
spends a 9th big week at the top. As well as being the longest running
number one single for the year, it starts to make headway into the all time
list of the longest runs at number one for a single over the last 10 years.
This is how things stand currently.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
WEEKS AT
YEAR NUMBER ONE TITLE - ARTIST
---------------------------------------------------------------------
1995/1996 13 GANGSTA'S PARADISE - Coolio
1991 11 (EVERYTHING I DO) I DO IT FOR YOU - Bryan Adams
1996/1997 11 WANNABE - Spice Girls
1992/1993 10 I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU - Whitney Houston
1996 9 MACARENA - Los Del Rio
1997 9 MMM BOP - Hanson
1998 9 I DON'T WANT TO MISS A THING - Aerosmith
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Congratulations to Melbourne band, the Living End - their debut album has
just gone to number one on the albums chart. Not only that, but their
first charting release, the double A-sided single, "Second Solution /
Prisoner Of Society" is officially the second longest running top 50
charting single of the last 10 years. It has spent 42 weeks in the top
50, an achievement only surpassed by Guns N' Roses "November Rain"
which spent a total of 43 weeks in the top 50 during 1992 and 1993.

Three new entries into the chart this week plus one re-entry. The highest
new comer is the latest single from the English duo that go by the name
of the "Lighthouse Family". Following up on their chart-topping single
"High" comes their new release from the "Postcards From Heaven" album.
"Raincloud", a top 10 hit for them in the UK, enters the charts at number
39 this week.

The latest album by Marilyn Manson, "Mechanical Animals", debuted on the
Australian albums chart at number one back in September, and off that
album comes this week's number 44 new entry, the single "Dope Show".
Despite great success with their albums over the last few years, the
highest charting single for Marilyn Manson only made it to number 28,
and it was the song "Sweet Dreams" back from 1996.

The final new entry comes from Australia's Josh Abrahams. This local
alternative artist has an album out titled "Sweet Distorted Holiday",
and from that comes the single "Addicted To Bass". Josh was responsible
producing the "Sunscreen" song with Baz Luhrmann - a song later sent-up
by John Safran with his version being called "Not The Sunscreen Song".

9. This week's feature song lyrics

-----------------------------
RAINCLOUD - Lighthouse Family
-----------------------------
There ain't no point holding back the touch
Still gonna get ya
'Cause every little bird's gotta learn to fly
Sooner or later
I don't wanna lose you
Can't always do what you wanna do
There ain't no point holding back the touch
Don't waste your time
'Cause everything is out there
And there's no limits out there
We could be reaching out for anything if we try enough

CHORUS:
Let the daylight end
On a better day
it's been too long waiting, baby
Under a raincloud

There ain't no point holding holding back desire
Still gonna get ya
Strangers on a train driving through the night
Soon overtakes ya
If someone feels the same as you
Might as well just do what you wanna do
There ain't no point holding back desire
Don't waste your time
'Cause everything is out there
And there's no limits out there
We could be reaching out for anything if we try enough

(CHORUS x2)

'Cause everything is out there
And there's no limits out there
We could be reaching out for anything if we try enough

(CHORUS x4 AND FADE)

--------------------------
DOPE SHOW - Marilyn Manson
--------------------------
The drugs they say make us feel so hollow
We love in vain narcissistic and so shallow
The cops and queers to swim you have to swallow
Hate today, no love for tomorrow

We're all stars now in the dope show
We're all stars now in the dope show

There's a lot of pretty, pretty ones
That want to get you high
But all the pretty, pretty ones
Will leave you low and blow your mind

We're all stars now in the dope show
We're all stars now in the dope show

They love you when you're on all the covers
When you're not then they love another

The drugs they say are made in California
We love your face
We'd really like to sell you
The cops and queers make good-looking models
I hate today
Who will I wake up with tomorrow?

There's a lot of pretty, pretty ones
That want to get you high
But all the pretty, pretty ones
Will leave you low and blow your mind

They love you when you're on all the covers
When you're not then they love another

There's a lot of pretty, pretty ones
That want to get you high
But all the pretty, pretty ones
Will leave you low and blow your mind, blow your mind

We're all stars now in the dope show
We're all stars now in the dope show
