I am *desperately* looking for the NAME of this song, the actual ARTIST or
ARTISTS which performed it, and the name of the ALBUM or ALBUMS on which it
appears. This is what I know of the song:

ABC (The American Broadcasting Company) broadcasted the 1988 Winter Olympics
from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, during February 1988. During the broadcast,
Jim McKay did a report on a supposed official song of the Calgary Games (similar
to a mascot and such). It was composed (I am almost positive of this; but if
not composed, then he had a large role) and probably performed by David Foster.
(Foster has composed and performed, for example, "Love Theme of [the movie] 'St.
Elmo's Fire'" and organized the "Voices That Care project.) The song had a lot
of piano and brass. Supposedly, there are two versions of the song. Many
people are familiar with the instrumental version. The following is a very bad
attempt at the first few measures of the song's rhythm:

dum-dum-DUM-dum dum-DUM-dum dum-DUM-dum DUM-DUM
(this only by piano ) (brass)

The song does have lyrics, though. I remember seeing on the ABC report that
the World Chorus sang the song.

Help! I *LOVE* this song, and I want to buy the album!

Thank you all in advance.

I got four immediate responses. Let me thank them:
Gary L Dare <g...@columbia.edu>
Dan Bechard <bec...@mpr.ca>
rcr...@library.carleton.ca (Robert Craig)
col...@ccs.carleton.ca (Colin McFadyen)
(hmm... two at the same school. Do you know each other?)

Anyway, here's the collective answer I was looking for:

The song is merely called "Winter Games", written and performed by Foster
It's on a 1988 Olympics soundtrack that was issued.
It is also on the CD "The Symphony Sessions" by David Foster (his "best hits"
collection), and it was produced by Atlantic. The order numbers for CD and
tape are: (cd) 18799-2 and (tape) 81799-4.

I thank you all for your EXTREMELY fast response. In other words, please do
not send me any more e-mail on this topic, because my account cannot handle it.
I will buy the CD tonight!

Thanks again... GOD I love computers... :)
