She's the female singer in Duran Duran's "Come Undone".
I find her voice very interesting about would like to know what she
might have done before. I can't find any information on her as a solo
artist, was she a member of any groups?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
e-mail responses preferred, I will post a summary of any responses

: Can anyone provide me with any information about Tessa Niles?
Tessa's first major appearance was with the Police on the
Synchronicity tour doing backing vocals. She went on to
be associated with Sting's solo career doing backup vocals
for him. She has done other session work, but never been
in a group or recorded an album.

If my memory serves well, she's the lovely blonde now doing backing vocals in
current Clapton's band, along with Katie Kisson (sp?).
She's been singing with Clapton for quite a while, now, at least from 1990 (she
was at the Knebworth concert).
You can see her in Clapton's 24 Nights and Unplugged.
She did release a solo single a few years back. It was called "The presidents
girl."

Tessa Niles also did some vocals for The The, the ones I remember most were
from 'Infected', she does a duet with Matt Johnson on 'Slow Train to Dawn',
really great singing. I think that's also her tied to the train tracks
in the video (available on the long form of 'Infected'). Hot stuff...
Any relation to the Niles (first name escapes me) from Chic, Power Station,
produced Duran Duran, etc?

No, because that was Nile Rodgers. Nile can currently be seen as the
producer behind Bowie's latest album.
But Tessa has also done vocal work for Tears For Fears, and a few other
British pop acts.

And she and Katie Kissoon (note: 2 "o"s) also toured with the Rolling Stones
on their Steel Wheels Tour. If I'm not mistaken, they can be seen in "Rolling
Stones at the Max"

I don't *think* so -- it was my understanding she was black.
There was a blonde on the Synchronicity tour, but it wasn't tessa..
she was in Sting's band when there were two black female
backing vocaliasts.

(Otherwise your mail will bounce!) The stuff contained in this article isn't
necessarily representative of what goes on at BNR; shame on you if you think it
does.

Tessa Niles IS white. I watched her last night on the synchronicity video
(recorded at the Omni )
And for the record...she is not a 'lovely blonde'
she is absolutely beautiful.

Bart, you think I can ever find another girl like her??
You're asking the wrong guy, Millhouse. They all look the same to me.
