Two More Album of the Year...

_The Power Of Lard_ by Lard (even though it is classified as
an EP, it IS 45 min. long!)

The first two or so months that I listened to The Power Of Lard, I
absolutely loved it. Then I got rather sick of it, after all the
pseudorap is kind of dumb when looked at objectively. However, if you
liked Lard, then I suggest you look for another Al Jourgenson produced
record by a band called Pailhead. They have a 12" and an EP out, and
the song I'm thinking of is called "I will Refuse" which is the A-side
of the "I Will Refuse" 12". The song absolutely rocks, and since it
came out about two years before Lard, you may then come to the
conclusion that Lard was a Pailhead ripoff. "I Will Refuse" is shorter,
too, a little over 4 minutes. Some magazine article remarked it as an
"eight dimensional sonic wonder that could bite the heads off nine-inch
nails...." I just think it kicks ass.
