7. This week's top 50:
The phenomenon that is the Crazy Frog has now had its day. After
3 weeks at number one, "Axel F" slips back to number 2. Replacing
Crazy Frog at number one is Akon's "Lonely". This single debuted
at number one last month, spent 2 weeks at the top, then stepped
back to number 2 for three weeks while Crazy Frog dominated
sales, and now "Lonely" returns back to number one. However
Akon's dominance on the singles chart is far from decisive -
Crazy Frog's song is still this week's biggest seller in Victoria,
Tasmania, Northern Territory and South Australia.
So when was the last time a number one single returned to the top
after making way for another single during its chart-topping run?
We only have to go back as far as June this year when the Black
Eyed Peas stepped down from the top for just one week to allow
Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" a stint at the top. Now while
returns to number one by former chart-toppers have become much
more popular in the last few years, singles that do return to
the top usually do so after one or 2 weeks away from the top.
Akon's "Lonely" becomes the longest absentee from the top
during a return trip since 2002 when Las Ketchup's "The Ketchup
Song" moved aside for Nelly & Kelly Rowland's "Dilemma" for
an incredible 4 weeks.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" rises to a
new peak of number 3, becoming the most obvious successor to
Akon in the coming weeks. However, watch out for Brisbane's
latest girl rock duo, the identical twins who go by the name of
The Veronicas. Their debut single "4ever" is out now and comes on
the back of their recent multi-million dollar record deal in
America.
Schnappi's Crocodile Song continues its charge up the charts,
climbing to number 6, while the rest of the top 10 shuffles
spots as no singles enter or leave this part of the chart from
last week.
Six brand new entries this week, and for the third week in a row,
all debut are outside of the top 10.
15. CATER 2 U - Destiny's Child
The R&B trio of Destiny's Child, featuring Kelly Rowland,
Beyonce Knowles and Michelle Williams, are calling it a day.
Many thought that day would have occured about 2 or 3 years ago
when the solo careers of Kelly and Beyonce took off in a big way
with hit after hit. Highlights include Kelly's duet with Nelly
on the number one single "Dilemma", and Beyonce's collaborations
with rapper Jay-Z on "03 Bonnie And Clyde" and "Crazy In Love",
both of which went to number 2. However, late last year, the
girls released their "Destiny Fulfilled" album which spent 30
weeks in the top 50 and sold platinum. From that album came
the huge hit singles, "Lose My Breath" (number 3, November
2004), "Soldier" (number 3, February 2005) and "Girl"
(number 5, May 2005). This week, the final single from
"Destiny Fulfilled", the track "Cater 2 U", debuts at number
15. It becomes their 13th top 50 single, with 9 of those 13
singles going top 10 between 2000 and 2005. Check out Destiny's
Child's official web site http://www.destinyschild.com/ for all
the latest news.
31. FIRST - Lindsay Lohan
19 year-old actress and singer, Lindsay Lohan, released her
debut album, "Speak", back in January. While the album didn't
manage to crack the top 50 on the albums chart, she enjoyed
hit singles with "Rumours" (number 10, January 2005) and
"Over" (number 27, April 2005). This week Lindsay returns with
the third single off her album, the track "First", which debuts
at number 31. This song also features on the soundtrack to
her latest movie, "Herbie: Fully Loaded".
33. EVERYTHING BURNS - Ben Moody featuring Anastacia
Ben Moody was a guitarist and song-writer in the band
Evanescence, but left the group during their European tour
in October 2003. Since then, he has been working with a
number of artists including Avril Lavigne and American
Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson. Ben's debut single is a
collaboration with Anastacia - an artist that has had an
enourmous impact in Australia with the chart-topping hits
"I'm Outta Love" (the biggest selling single in Australia
during 2000) and "Left Outside Alone" (the second biggest
selling single in Australia during 2004). "Everything
Burns" debuts at number 33 this week and will feature on
Ben Moody's album "Can't Regret What You Don't Remember",
which is due out later this year.
40. OH YEAH - Taxiride
Four-piece Melbourne band, Taxiride, return to the charts
after an absence of more than 2 years and a line-up change.
Their first album, "Imaginate", debuted at number one back in
October 1999 and spawned the hits "Get Set" (number 8, July
1999), "Everywhere You Go" (number 15, October 1999), "Can You
Feel" (number 35, February 2000) and "Nothing In This World"
(number 43, August 2000). Their follow-up album in 2002,
"Garage Mahal" didn't do quite as well, peaking at number 5
during a relatively short chart run, although it did spawn
their highest ever charting single, "Creepin' Up Slowly"
which peaked at number 6 back in September 2002, despite
their official web site at http://www.taxiride.com.au/
incorrectly claiming it to be a top 5 hit. Taxiride's
success was not just confined to Australia - they also
enjoyed hit singles in New Zealand and Japan. Taxiride
are set to release their third album shortly, and the
album's first single, "Oh Yeah", debuts at number 40.
42. REMEDY - Seether
South African rock group, Seether, enjoyed a big hit when
they collaborated with the lead vocalist of Evanescence,
Amy Lee, on the single "Broken", which peaked at number 3
in late 2003 and enjoyed a marathon 21 week run in the top 50.
Seether's new album, "Karma And Effect", debuted at number 39
earlier this month, and the album's first single, "Remedy",
enters the chart at number 42 this week.
44. COME GET SOME - Rooster
This week's final new entry comes from English rock group,
Rooster. Their single, "Come Get Some", went top 10
in the U.K. almost a year ago and was followed up with
the U.K. number 4 hit, "Staring At The Sun". Here in
Australia, we're playing catch up as "Come Get Some"
finally debuts at number 44 this week. The group's
self-titled album goes on sale next week.

---------------------------
CATER 2 U - Destiny's Child
---------------------------
Baby I See You Working Hard
I Want To Let You Know I'm Proud,
Let You Know That I Admire What You Do
The More If I Need To Reassure You,
My Life Would Be Purposeless Without You (Yeah)
If I Want It (Got It)
When I Ask You (You Provide It)
You Inspire Me To Be Better
You Challenge Me For The Better
Sit Back And Let Me Pour Out My Love Letter
Let Me Help You
Take Off Your Shoes
Untie Your Shoestrings
Take Off Your Cufflinks (Yeah)
What You Want To Eat Boo? (Yeah)
Let Me Feed You
Let Me Run Your Bathwater
Whatever You Desire, I'll Aspire
Sing You A Song
Turn The Game On
I'll Brush Your Hair
Help Put Your Do Rag On
Want A Foot Rub? (Yeah)
You Want A Manicure?
Baby I'm Yours I Want To Cater To You Boy
CHORUS:
Let Me Cater To You
Cause Baby This Is Your Day
Do Anything For My Man
Baby You Blow Me Away
I Got Your Slippers, Your Dinner, Your Dessert,
And So Much More
Anything You Want Just Let Me Cater To You
Inspire Me From The Heart,
Can't Nothing Tear Us Apart
You're All That I Want In A Man;
I Put My Life In Your Hands
I Got Your Slippers, Your Dinner, Your Dessert,
And So Much More
Anything You Want, I Want To Cater To You
Baby I'm Happy You're Home,
Let Me Hold You In My Arms
I Just Want To Take The Stress Away From You
Making Sure That I'm Doing My Part (Oh)
Boy Is There Something You Need Me To Do (Oh)
If You Want It (I Got It)
Say The Word (I Will Try It)
I Know Whatever I'm Not Fulfilling (Oh)
Another Woman Is Willing (Oh)
I'm Going To Fulfill Your Mind, Body, And Spirit
I Promise You (Promise You)
I'll Keep Myself Up (Oh)
Remain The Same Chick (Yeah)
You Fell In Love With (Yeah)
I'll Keep It Tight, I'll Keep My Figure Right
I'll Keep My Hair Fixed, Keep Rocking The Hottest Outfits
When You Come Home Late Tap Me On My Shoulder, I'll Roll Over
Baby I Heard You, I'm Here To Serve You (I'm Lovin It, I'm Lovin It)
If It's Love You Need, To Give It Is My Joy
All I Want To Do, Is Cater To You Boy
(CHORUS)
I Want To Give You My Breath, My Strength, My Will To Be Here
That's The Least I Can Do,
Let Me Cater To You
Through The Good (Good)
The Bad (Through The Bad)
The Ups And The Downs (Ups And Downs)
I'll Still Be Here For You
Let Me Cater To You
Cause You're Beautiful (You're Beautiful)
I Love The Way You Are (You Are)

FIRST - Lindsay Lohan
---------------------
Is that someone you used to date
Why she's hanging around here, what's her story
Doesn't she know that its too late
That the party is over and the car is for me
Why don't u tell her what's been going on
Cuz she seems to be dreaming instead of just leaving
If you don't have the heart to fill her in
Then just step aside and let me lay it on the line
Cuz your mine
And tonight you don't revolve around her
Your mine
And this time I'm gonna scream a little louder
CHORUS:
Don't wanna be like
Every other girl in the world
Like every other one who wants you
Cuz when I see you something inside me burns
Then I realize I wanna come first
I wanna come first
You look at me and I just die
Its like heaven arriving in my mind
And I cant believe all this jealousy
I used to be a girl who could let a guy breathe
But your mine
And tonight you revolve around me
Your mine
And this time I'm gonna get a little louder
Don't wanna be like
Every other girl in the world
Like every other one who wants you
Cuz when I see you something inside me burn
And then I realize I wanna come first
(I wanna come first)
Don't wanna be like every girl who's tried to get you
I wanna be the one who's never sorry that she met you
I wanna come first
Hey!
(CHORUS x2)

EVERYTHING BURNS - Ben Moody featuring Anastacia
------------------------------------------------
She sits in her corner
Singing herself to sleep
Wrapped in all of the promises
That no one seems to keep
She no longer cries to herself
No tears left to wash away
Just diaries of empty pages
Feelings gone a stray
But she will sing
Til everything burns
While everyone screams
Burning their lies
Burning my dreams
All of this hate
And all of this pain
I'll burn it all down
As my anger reigns
Til everything burns
Ooh, oh
Walking through life unnoticed
Knowing that no one cares
Too consumed in their masquerade
No one sees her there
And still she sings
Til everything burns
While everyone screams
Burning their lies
Burning my dreams
All of this hate
And all of this pain
I'll burn it all down
As my anger reigns
Til everything burns
Everything burns
(Everything burns)
Everything burns
Watching it all fade away
(All fade away)
Everyone screams
Everyone screams
(Watching it all fade away)
Oooh, ooh
(While everyone screams)
Burning down lies
Burning my dreams
(All of this hate)
And all of this pain
I'll burn it all down
As my anger reigns
Til everything burns
(Everything burns)
Watching it all fade away
(Oooh, ooh)
(Everything burns)
Watching it all fade away

REMEDY - Seether

Throw your dollar bills and leave your thrills all here with me
And speak but don't pretend I won't defend you anymore you see
It aches in every bone, I'll die alone, but not for you
My eyes don't need to see that ugly thing
I know it's me you fear
If you want me hold me back
Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"
I don't need a friend, I need to mend so far away
So come sit by the fire and play a while
but you can't stay too long
It aches in every bone, I'll die alone, but not for pleasure
I see my heart explode, it's been eroded by the weather here
If you want me hold me back
Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"
Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"
Hold your eyes closed, take me in
Hold your eyes closed, take me in
Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"
Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy
Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me"

COME GET SOME - Rooster
-----------------------
Baby it Dont Matter,
Anyone Can See The Signs,
I caught you looking over
with just a little bit of a smile,
You tell him that you love him
while im running through your mind.
Cos i know, that you know
your cover will blow it's only a matter of time.
It's Not My Style, to try an cheat and lie
why do you santify something that already died.
I've got something that i realise.
I aint gonna shout it from the rooftops honey,
Tell me i'm the only one,
Kick em to the curb and baby dont stop running,
Tell me how you gonna come get some.
Did you ever ask yourself the question
'Where the hell did i go wrong?'
Cos you know when it's true,
I'll be waiting for you,
So tell me how you gonna come, come
Come Get Some.
All those words your wasting,
Trying to tell yourself you need more time,
But whats the point in faking,
When you know your'll never make it right.
You say your head is blurry but i cant get you out of mine.
I don't mean to cause pressure,
but i just cant let ya,
go on while your living this lie.
It's not my style,
To let this pass me by,
Why do you santify something thats already died.
I've got something that i realise,
I aint gonna shout it from the rooftops honey,
Tell me i'm the only one,
Kick em to the curb and baby dont stop running,
Tell me how you gonna come get some.
Did you ever ask yourself the question
'Where the hell did i go wrong?'
Cos you know when it's true,
I'll be waiting for you,
So tell me how you gonna come, come
Come Get Some.
Pushed out and waiting,
Blackedout and fading,
Flaked out and shaking,
Just breaking for you
Just breaking for you
Freaked out and pacing,
I just cant go on like this forever.
I aint gonna shout it from the rooftops honey,
Tell me i'm the only one,
Kick em to the curb and baby dont stop running,
Tell me how you gonna come get some.
Did you ever ask yourself the question
'Where the hell did i go wrong?'
Cos you know when it's true,
I'll be waiting for you,
So tell me how you gonna come, come
Come Get Some.

WTF?? They're still around?!
Yes, their solo careers failed (Nick's did at least, don't know if the
others released anything) so they decide to go back to the only thing that
would keep them famous, which was a good move judging by the success
"Incomplete" seems to have had around the globe.
