album #1: "Night Out" -- good AOR rock w/Ian Hunter, Mick Ronson.
And it would have been a hit if Pat Benatar's debut hadn't been
the monster that it was during the same period ...
album #2: "Spirit of St. Louis" -- a vehicle for boyfried Mick Jones
and the rest of The Clash to explore rock w/European cabaret during
the "Sandinista" period. (I could not imagine any member of The Clash
singing these tunes! (-;) Ellen still does these songs in her bar act
around NYC supper clubs (heck, one supper is my entire week's meals!).
album #3: "Another Breath" -- a collection of various album cut
favourites that never made it onto the charts which Ellen liked.
(e.g. "Johnny & Mary" by Robert Palmer (pre-Power Station, MTV),
"Read My Lips" by Tim Curry, etc.) Ellen didn't do any better,
it seems. )-; But, it's still a good album ...
That seems to have been it since her appearances on "Night Court"
(which I've never seen), no appearances in any Mick Jones (Clash,
B.A.D., BAD II) albums or videos since album #3 which might mean
they're no longer an item ...

She did sing some backing vocals on Meat Loaf's _Bat Out of Hell_ album.

She shares backing vocal credits on Joe Jackson's _Body and Soul_ (1984).
In case you're a totally fanatic fan, I'll even mention that there's a
picture of her (I *think* it's her) in the CD liner notes.

That's what I thought when I saw the name. She did the female part on
"Paradise by the Dashboard Light".

There is a film short that they used to show on Nighttracks (is that the name?
The show they used to show late in the night on Friday & Saturday night
on the USA Network). Anyway, it had Ellen Foley as a model suffering the
constantly changing demands of her photographer. It was pretty good.
She also made a cameo appearance, along with members of the Clash, in
the movie King of Comedy. They were a bunch of steet punks, as I recall
(but it's been a long time).

[discussion of her recordings omitted]
She also sang backup on Ian Hunter's "You're Never Alone With
A Schizophrenic" (Chrysalis, 1979) and "Short Back n' Sides" (Chrysalis,
1981). On Hunter's "Ian Hunter Live" (Chrysalis, 1980), which is a
double LP, with three live sides and one side of studio cuts, she sings
a duet with Hunter on "We Gotta Get Out Of Here." She does a humorous
sort-of-rap at the end of the song. I haven't heard jack about her in
years, though . . .
