> ** Discography is listed **
I noticed that you left out quite a few Mike Oldfield albums. Your Oldfield
section seems to stop at BOXED and resumes somewhere in 1990. Here are some
items you could add (this includes all "proper" Mike Oldfield - albums only -
and not singles or related work).
Incantations (1978) Virgin VDT101 (Double Album)
Mike Oldfield - all instruments, except: Mike Laird - trumpet; Pierre
Moerlen - drums, vibraphones; Maddy Prior, Sally Oldfield, and the
Queens College Girls Choir - vocals; Terry Oldfield and Sebastian
Bell - flutes; Jabula - african drums; David Bedford - conductor.
Platinum (1979) Virgin 201206-610
Mike Oldfield - elec/acoustic guitars, piano & synth, vibes & marimba,
and vocals; Pierre Moerlen, Alan Schwartzberg, Maurice Pert - drums;
Neil Jason, Hansford Rowe, Francisco Centeno - bass; Nico Ramsden,
Peter Lemer - keyboards; Sally Cooper - tubular bells; Wendy Roberts -
vocals; Demalza - congas.
Exposed (1979) Virgin (Double Live Album of 1979 European Tour)
I don't have the album anymore, but if I recall correctly, the touring
band consisted of: Oldfield - guitar, vocal; Morris Pert - drums,
percussion; Maddy Prior - vocals; Nico Ramsden - guitar; Pekka Pijola -
bass; Pierre Moerlen - drums, vibes, percussion; can't remember
keyboard player - maybe Pete Lemer. Songs consisted of condensed
version of "Incantation" plus the whole "Tubular Bells".
QE2 (1980) Virgin/Epic 37358
Oldfield - all instruments except: David Hentschel - steel drums,
synthesized french horn, synths, vocals; Mike Frye - drums; Tim Cross -
piano, synths; Maggie Reilly - vocals; Phil Collins - drums; Morris
Pert - drums.
Five Miles Out (1982) Virgin/Epic 37983
This album calls the musicians "the Mike Oldfield Group".
Oldfield - guitar, bass, keyboards, vocals; Morris Pert - drums,
keyboards; Tim Cross - keyboards; Rick Fenn - guitars; Maggie Reilly -
vocals; with Mike Frye - percussion; Paddy Moloney - uileann pipes;
Carl Palmer - percussion; Graham Broad - drums.
Crises (1983) Virgin V2262
Oldfield - all instruments except: Phil Spalding - bass; "Ant" -
guitars; Rick Fenn - guitars; Simon Phillips - tama drums; Maggie
Reilly - vocals; Jon Anderson - vocals; Roger Chapman - vocals;
Pierre Moerlen - vibraphone.
Discovery (1984) Virgin
Another one that I no longer have; contains the core team of
Oldfield, Maggie Reilly, and Simon Phillips, plus a few satellite
musicians.
At this point, I stopped following Oldfield and/or his disc releases. But this
should help in adding to the Oldfield section of the Discography.
