This question is directed at musicians and dj's who perform at a lot
of weddings. What is the most requested song or songs that couples want
played during their wedding ceremony i.e. The Wedding Song by Paul Stookey
for example.

Thanks.

At every stinking wedding I've ever been to lately, they play The Rose. Also
the Wind Beneath my goddam Wings.

Let's not forget that keyboardist fave, Girl from Ipanema.

Discerning couples favor two of the most beautiful songs
known to popular music: Brian Wilson's "God Only Knows"
and Willie DeVille's "Heaven Stood Still"

And everyone else goes with "We've Only Just Begun." Still. Aaagh.

At receptions, lest we forget...

Hokey Pokey
Hands Up
Chicken Dance (my old band referred to this as "look at the assholes")
Endless Love
We've Only Just Begun
Daddy's Little Girl
Mr. Wonderful
Tarantella (good at Italian weddings)
Melody Of Love (good at Polish Weddings)
Wild Irish Rose (you get the picture)

Countless other syrupy ballads- I'm out of the wedding biz now, but I'm
sure that any band with a female singer does "I Will Always Love You"

Every wedding band I've seen has played Atlantic Starr's "Always."
